tom has kyb's with eibach springs and my car can destroy his in the twisties... i dont have em just for ride height, i got beautiful performance out of them. thats all im saying man. i just dont want to see ya have spent money on a spring/strut combo then ride in someones car with nice coils and regret not putting that money into coils as well. i did something worse than that lol... i wasted $800 on ksports only to find out that for a meager $200 more i could have had PBMs. I felt robbed/stupid for not doing it right the first time.

but this is your car, your call. i just wanted to share my experience.

if struts and springs are your thing, do it. i wont "look down" on it or anything. i respect being on a budget. i blew my budget outta the water and im in debt because of this stupid car. lol but i heart her, even if shes ugly and spraypainted
I've had Tein HR's before... I know what coils feel like, I love them. But they came WITH my old hatch. I need to go to the salvage yard and see if they are still on the car... Now to find the guy that took my car... lol No srsly. I love coils, but Im not dropping a grand for em.

$400 is about my limit, so yeah. Spring/struts right here. Later on though, Imma get some coils. When my budget allows. But I have 1 blown strut as it is, and I can't be saving up for a couple months just to get coils... Maybe I should get a second PT job... hmmm

second PT job ftw. lol. i guess i misread where you said "i can hold off for a long time" where it now appears that you meant you can hold off on coils, not on time.

makes a LOT more sense now lol. i first read that and took it to mean that you could wait a while to change the suspension...

lol, naw... I need to get this taken care of ASAP, and then after I have rebuilt the motor, then I can pick up a set of coils... hmmmm I think I might get ksport... lol JK!!! ur gonna suggest PBMs but idk, I might just save up and grab some Teins.. I liked my old ones. Damn, If i had only had an extra pair of shocks/springs back then I could've swapped em out and still had my coils. DAMN IT!

The car is originally from New York! OK, I picked up the latest issue of Project Car, and Tein has an ad in there that suggests an MSRP of $750 for the Basic Damper Coilovers. Is this what they are going for???

Adrian? Anyone? It just seems unreal that a complete coilover setup by TEIN would go for that kind of price.

http://www.tein.com/products/basic.htmlit's true, they are ride height adjustable as well. The only bad thing is they don't come with upper camber plates.

I know, I hate people that make random, useless posts just to be able to post in the classifieds.

OK, here is a descent shot of my blue interior lighting as of now... I hate driving in pitch black so a soft blue glow does the trick

coming along nicely, but get on those framerails, that looks dangerous. get your priorities straight, pretty blue lights and lowering springs should be the least of your worries.

Well, my car ran great, until today. Went to the grocery store, no problem. When it was time to leave, I started my car and it ran for about 5 seconds, sputtered and died. Now when I try to start the car, there is a loud rattling coming from the motor.

Like I said, there were no problems before now. It made a rattling before the car stopped running. I think my timing chain broke.

Any thoughts?

OK,got the car to start up, so the chain isn't broken. But it doesn't want to stay running and there is still wierd noises... Hmmm maybe it jumped a tooth or two... Whatever it is, the car starts but is no where near drivable...

Yeah, today I got the car running... Its like nothing ever happened... Hmmm. Took out all the spark plugs and put them back in, so maybe the plug wires were loose.. IDK... It runs, thats what matters...

So yeah, my car keeps acting funny so I pulled the spark plugs out and am checking gap clearance and also cleaning the plug wires... I pulled the dizzy cap off and noticed something... The little metal circle in the middle of the underside of the cap is gone, causing the rotor to have a very hard time with getting juice to send through the wires... At least that is my theory. I AM missing the little metal circle, so my question is, would this missing piece be the cause of all my problems??? Its seems reasonable. The rotor has a connector piece that touches the cap. The connector touches the little metal circle, which i am missing, and thats where the juice comes from. Without this metal circle, the electricity is arching from the little amount of metal to the rotor. Am I right? I do need to buy a new cap now, i assume
