Rust never leaves once it there, no matter what you cut out and replace....car will just fall apart somewhere else.
That's really not true, ask any hotrodder, you just need to be vigilent and use all the right chemicals. No half-asseded-ness. Although It's always better to start a project with less, rust.

I'm almost more interested in the building of the garage then the car

Awesome job on building your garage(shop). Hopefully you will continue to expand your garage in terms of vents, boots, lifts, parts storage, etc. As for the project, keep up the good work and hopefully you can bring life back to it. Good luck.

a tiny update (another one in the main post a.k.a the first post)its a lot of work but the rust is pretty localised in a specific area its not the entire panel thats rusted out so

not a lot of repairs done yet more dismantling cutting and btw there is a buttload of spotwelds on a 240 this is what the hinges looked like before

and now, just need a little sandblasting primer reweld over, prime and paint

a little upgrade, mine were rusted with the bushing more then done and I had to cut one of the bolts so it was worth it SPC 1.5 degre caster rods

most usefull tools

finally won the battle against the subframe... pretty rusted i'm looking for a JDM one so let me know!

got the gas tank out, yesss still good!!! filled the beaterwith the rest of the gasoline (sentra)

nismo power brace imitation in progress

took out the bumper reinforcement wich was more then dead

the guy that goes trought my garbage for srap metal to sell sure wrote down my adress

some brilliant dude changed the fuel lines and let the old ones rot there:(

power steering and alternator strap pretty worn

I vainquished the clutch master cylinder! long life to cheap propane torch from home hardware store

I almost got lost all my courage but I just finished to dismantle it and the rust is pretty focused on some areas easy to replace like rockers for instance and the subframe ... so if I can't find a JDM one I'll sandblast it replace the broken upper control arm reinforce it then paint it ....you might not know but I do not have any training in either collision repair or automobile mechanix

I got the subframe into pieces look at all the crap came off it

I'll look up the JDM imports for a new one because it would be a lot of work rebuilding it

a bolt was missing gotta be crazy running with a bolt missing...

the reason why I have "negative camber on that picture

Wow thats rough with that rust props for doing it! i lived in Quebec for a year and a half and the amount of salt they use on the roads in winter is sickening well at least just outside of Quebec city. Thank god i moved to BC and found a 240 that was stored in mini storage since new (its a 92) every winter the first owner (im #2) went to vegas every winter all winter. so the car was virtually rust free minus the **** foam spoiler.
