Sky is right, Although she is being a little kinder and a little more philosophical than I would be.

Bottom line is people that drive with their highbeams on are ***holes. Not to mention blinding oncomming traffic is stupid, nothing like a head on colision.

well i personally run hid's also and there are other factors to consider besides blinding oncoming traffic. remember that if they dont like the glare, use the little knob on the rearview mirror. lol. also i know that i find alot of people dont quite realize how bright oem hids really are in comparison to our H4's. I know that the maxima and s2000's in particular tend to blind me when they are behind me, but i dont get pissed. just move your head or adjust the mirror. As for on a 2 lane road, u got me there. it isnt really safe but i can't do anything about it except flip to my halogen bulbs if sumone flashes me......................

HID is great and all but instead of being an *** I'd rather run a set of Raybrig fog lights underneath the front bumper. A good pair of foglights/driving lights makes a huge difference.

I had almost given up on doing the HID conversion, reading this and seeing the pictures have got me interested again. I have run foglights(PIAA 1700X) I wasn't a fan of the way fog lights looked on the car, it was also a pain to try and match the color of the foglights to that of the headlights(using PIAA products). Plus its really about glare... if you look directly into and LED its very bright but from any direction other than head-on they dont bother most people. Plus nothing seems to irritate me more than a 4wd truck with factory headlights as far as glare goes. The ones with upgraded bulbs are even worse. BTW loveless what kit are you running in the pic in front of the bushes they didnt seem to be the blue tint that was in the garage.

I believe that we agreed that if you run bosch or hella headlamps as opposed to ebay headlamps, the glare would be significantly less (still not perfect, but ok). I'll actually be trying this out in a couple weeks or so before I decide whether or not I want to spend the time and money into retrofit. I'm sure the info was buried somewhere around here, haha.
NrG wrote:Is this a joke?first off, HID kits are crap.Second, you installed your hid bulbs upside down LOL!
Actually, the bulbs are in the correct position. The majority of the light should be hitting the top portion of the housing. The bottom of the housing will reflect upwards. If you check out all the hid shield kits, they block the bottom of the light (i.e. mcculloch's new generation kit & aftermarket hid kit shields) - They typically have 2 slots at the bottom of the shield to allow some light to be used to light up road signs.

Also, most fo the reflection in that picture you used was probably from the angle, lighting, sun, flash, or whatever.

Back from the dead.

Let's try and keep thread necromancy limited to situations where we have relevant information to add. I thought loveless had an update for us.
