So look at what my friend found in his bathroom today.

Soo... he sprayed it with roach/ant killer. And it just started walking around like it was God with eight... long and creepy legs. Then it started doing this.

Spider's dramatic death

and just to make sure it was dead we decided to do this:

Sleep tight!

That's awesome.

Over the summer, my sister and I were at my dad's workplace, and there was a big spider just like that one walking around. My dad was on hold taking a business call at the time, but he managed to load a bb gun that was lying around... and BAM he shot that sucka's legs off. It rocked. I have some pictures of its corpse on my phone, but I haven't learned how to transfer them to my pc.

I was in some of the narrows in southern UTah (less than two foot wide opening). There was a black widow crawling on the rocks. I had a CO2 pellet gun with me. I didn't use a pellet--too close quarters. Ever see a black widow twitch half inside-out? Its a beautiful sight!

Congratulations on destroying natural pest control. Maybe we need to just make more harmful pesticides.

People are such p****** about spiders and insects that are GOOD for the environment

Say that after you get bit by a Brown Recluse and lose 6 oz of flesh over the next 6 weeks and require a skin graft and tons of antibiotics.

See the "Good Book" - note the part about "dominion over the animals".

p.s. Whatever happened to the heel of a shoe traveling downwards at 60 mph?

pshh...

If there's a big spider(possibly deadly)... I'm not going to pretend it's not there. Sure, naturally it may be mild-mannered, but there is that chance it could crawl on me and bite.

Just for safety's sake, I'm going to shoot it.

PS. I don't want bugs breeding in my home/work place.

I have some cool pics of damages done by brown recluses. Can I post them, Greg? Or are they too graphic?

Spiders that actually harm humans, such as brown recluses, black widows, etc are pretty rare and only found in certain regions of the country. Spiders as a whole are very harmless and only bite when provoked and their venom isn't powerful enough to harm adults.

I just think it's stupid to kill off insects that benefit the environment and then look for artificial ways of controlling problems that are caused by our ignorance. [/hippie rant]

Black widows are not rare. When I lived with my parents, my room was in the basement. I had black widows breeding in my window well. I'd have to scoop up piles of near-microscopic babies each summer and burn them...don't need them in my bed. They also lived in my bathroom...down a tile hall from my bedroom. They are nearly as common as garden spiders, they are just more reclusive, so you don't see them as often.

Insects are a nuisance. Best to kill the ones in the house and leave the ones outside alone. I hate cleaning up messes, so I prefer letting it outside or down the toilet if I can. Insect guts stain walls.

That's why you're supposed to use fire.

I've run into brown recluses and black widows around Sacramento. I don't want any of that thank you very much.

Nope. The spider didn't leave any mark on the counter. You can do what I do and stab it in the head with a looooong nail. But it takes some testicular fortitude to do that.

you nancy boys...

it was just a grass spider...I'd so pick it up and play with it...then probably throw it somewhere...

don't get me wrong though, I like killing stuff just as much as the next little crazy cali asian kid though...spiders just kinda amuse me...

I honestly don't see many black widows or brown recluses around here though. We're lucky to have the less likely to be lethal of the species here. Poor Australians, they got all that poisonous stuff over there...

I'm gonna laugh when you get West Nile from some mesquito that the spider would have killed. I don't particularly like spiders, but I try not to bother them. I even got bit by what I believe was a black widow 2 weeks ago, my leg got all swollen and I got sick, it sucked. But still...

First off, I don't get sick. Secondly, when I do, It always goes away on its own...even bronchitis and pneumonia. Thirdly, summer is over, no more mosquitos.
