I don't know aout the detuned engines, I've never read that anywhere... the only coupe vs coupe detune was the 2007 model year, all the rest were the same...

only problem is, when the G35 first came out, they were using non SAE standard HP, just like everyone else... when the SAE forced everyone to use the same standard... the HP was reported as 275 rather than 280 (just like the lexus sc 430 HP use to be reported as 300 hp, but changed after SAE standards to 288 hp)
Detuned is a bad word. The auto Gs have lower redlines and the lower plenum is optimized for peak torque instead of peak HP. This is why the auto numbers are 280/270 and the MT are 298/260.

Sorry for Thread and Forum Jacking

but i don't know of a single setup where the automatic is faster than the manual
SMG transmission equipped M3's are faster than their 6 speed counterparts The automatic SMG shifts in 0.08 secs, and this was created back in 02 or something. Audi does a similar thing with the DSG auto transmission.

When is this going to happen?

I know I'll get my *** handed to me, but at least I'll be able to say that I lost to a formidable car.

Also, didn't the SMG have an extra gear too? Nissan autos are not that wonderful

If I didn't have 200lbs of woofers and boxes and Tv's and $hit in my trunk, I'd race you! I won't even give you the satisfaction with all that crap in my car though... heck, on second thought, why not... you pick the track, we'll come up with a date!

Iwould love to if I didn't have 200 lbs of boxes, woofers, and tv's in the trunk... I don't even want to give you the privalege! .. But then again, what the heck, let's do it, you pick the track, I know there are some good 1/4 mile tracks in OC!

ive raced both the r/t and the srt8..now the rt is some fun because it looks and sounds as if it were fast but bone stock would be a great race between the 2..i pulled hard on the r/t(340hp hemi)..now the srt8 is no joke guys lets stay away unless we have more then just bolt ons is all im sayying..that car can fly and it did all over me..i went home and did research..some guys got it to do the 1/4 mile at 12.8's
