IIRC the Magnum came out before the Charger. Could be wrong.

The Magnum weighs in at around 3847 (I have the feeling the SRT8 weighs more).

There was a guy in the G forum that got eaten up by an SRT8 Jeep. I highly doubt that your FWD alti with a slightly detuned VQ35DE would be able to pull on an SRT8 Magnum. Especially considering the weight difference between the magnum and the jeep (4,819).

Hmm, if the A/C can't stand up to the SRT8, of course the G would get eaten alive... ....

seriously, the SRT8 is a beast, it may have been an RT, or if it was an SRT8, it didn;t know it was in a race... I've seen those things in action and they are pretty damb quick, whether in a jeep, magnum, charger, whatever... its a powerful engine... American muscle, what can you say...

so fellas, ladies, boys, and girls... let's agree that the SRT8 would smoke an A/C (and definately smoke a G), the R/T and A/C would be close (but the RT would still beat a G .... and the rest are fair game... even for a G

i have ran my cousins g like mybe 10 times and 8/10 i pulled him from 0 - 75-80 and from a roll. i think at higher speeds up in the hundreds the g will come back for sure.

I think the manual G may be able to take the CVT... but definately not the 6MT stock for stock (except for maybe the 2007 manual G )

the fastest stock CVT has run a 13.9, but that was with an unbolted exhaust, stock, I think his fastest time was 14.2 or 14.4

again, its all in fun, the two are very close, but every head to head A/C vs G race I've seen , the A/C has edged it out...

no, its actually a bit difficult to find accurate automatic G and Z ratings as most reviews are on the MT... but i don't know of a single setup where the automatic is faster than the manual... the G is no exception, the manuals are faster than the autos

then again, who knows... the numbers range on this car... some sites have reported the auto as fast as 5.9 seconds, some as slow as 6.9 seconds (which is ridiculous)

one site has the auto with a faster 0-60, but slower 1/4 mile time (compared to the manual), another site has the oposite...

who knows what the truth really is ... as we've seen, reported numbers are one thing, but numerous head to head matches tell the real deal!

I don't know aout the detuned engines, I've never read that anywhere... the coupe vs coupe detune was the 2005 - 2007 model years, 2003-2004 were the same...

only problem is, when the G35 first came out, they were using non SAE standard HP, just like everyone else... when the SAE forced everyone to use the same standard... the HP was reported as 275 rather than 280 (just like the lexus sc 430 HP use to be reported as 300 hp, but changed after SAE standards to 288 hp)
