OMG SilEighty out of thin air

Soething weird happened to me today. Being as how I love my S14 so much I was out for a joyride through my small Tenn. town today. being as how I'm one of maybe 3 240 owners in my town I know pretty much mine is the fattest in town (although the other owners don't tune or are 50 years old). Anyways I was blown away when I got to the local high school where most people goto turn around on the main drag in town. Then all of a sudden I see a black car pulling out of the hgih school, Tehn my eye got bigger then **** when I realized this black car was no regular car. not ever seeing a JDM s13 front end in real life before, I couldn't tell what it was until I pasted it and saw 180sx taillights. So all of a sudden out of the blue in my very very small Tenn town I see a Sileighty appear out of thin air. I kinda wondered why dude got on it so hard when he saw me in my s14 with it's full Bomex kit. I almost **** when dude stomped it and spewed his BOV right in my face!!!!!:mad: from far away I wondered why he seemed to gun it just for me to see. but when I passed and he waved with a big smile I knew he was throwing it in my face. Anyways I thought it was kinda strange and just thought I would let you guys know about my first experiance seeing a Sileighty. Let me know if you've had an experiance like this.

I mean it didn't go off in my face really. I was in my car, but it did go off as we were passing each other. that' why I say it was in my face. Plus noone I know in my area has an SR20 so that was in my face too

I have no idea man. and Va is a while from Loudon, Tenn. my profile says Knoxville cause I'm just 15 min away and i figure most people would know Knoxville and know at least what area I'm in. But I doubt most people would drive from VA to come here

sounds nice. i got to meet a bunch of 240's with ka-t's and sr20det's and one with an rb26dett. the rb 240 wasnt runnin top notch yet though.

wow ive never even seen a decent 240 in my city, let alone a sileighty. i live in the biggest city in illinois next to chicago, and all the cars suck.

it was a flat black color kinda like a black primer, iguess the guy had just got it.

Yeah i feel ya bro.....the first time, i seen a sileighty i freaked out. I couldnt believe it....they look so beautiful. I think there is at least two or three 240 hatchbacks that have a S13 JDM front end on it out here. I wish i were one of them.

yeah Nautious1 that's the exact same color. And believe me guys if you had every been to my town and knew how small it was. I'm sure you all would say WTF to seeing a Sil80 here. Like I said when I made this post, I don't actully live In Koxville (3rd largest city in tenn.) I live about 30 min from it, and although it's close Loudon (hometown) is very small.

SWEET!!! i saw my first ever Sileighty 2 weekends ago on I-90 just north of Madison Wisconsin..lit was a bright red color...it looked so unbeliviable!!!

i hope to see it again!

first sileighty i ever saw was on the bay bridge goin into san francisco. it was blue with bronze wheels, kouki tails and "sileighty" on the panel between the tails. glad i wasn't driving at the time or i woulda crashed

Anywayz, yeah the first time I saw a Sil80 conv was about 3 years ago, when I first got into drifting, and no one knew what it was. Now, I see them every so often. Still cool, but not as jumpy anymore to see them.

Just a quick question SilviaS14KA24DE.....couldnt Sil80 also mean and s15 front end on a 180(body)? it still is a silvia joined with a 180. Its just using all these s13.5 and other conversion numbers are gettin confusin.

look at the picture posted above, i wasnt sure if he was just refering to the color (flat black) or if he was refering to that actual car. if you didnt notice it has s15 lights.

and do you really have a 95 240sx with a KA24DE? im glad you put that info there, i never would have know what motor you had.

nope Sil-eighty is a sil eighty. A s15 conv with a hatch back, is nothing really. It's dubbed the s13.5.

Here goes for all those who are confused.

180sx (engine code: CA18DEis basically the 240sx hatchback here in america.

Sil-80 (pronounced Sil-eighty):has the front end like a S13, and a rear like the 240sx hatchback-------

S13:has the front like a sil-80, and the rear of the american 240sx coupe.-------

1-via (one-via) OR American 240sx coupeRear is like the s13 (coupe), and front of a 180sx (pop up headlights)

S13.5 ConversionThis car has s15 front conv, the rest is a 240sx fastback.

------

S14.5 ConversionThis car has s15 front conv, the rest is a s14 rear end.

i think everyone uderstands, but people do call 240sx's with S15 fronts sileightys as well. Sil-eighty isnt like some real nissan name or anything, its just the combination of 180sx and Silvia (which S15's are) if some one put a S13 silvia front on a 200sx would you *****? make them call it a Sil-00 or something gay like that?

Riiight....thanks for the sunday school lesson Silvias14ka24de. But i still think its shouldnt be held against somebody if they say that a 240 hatch with a s15 face is a sil-80. whateva....it dont matter really, kinda pointless ya know. But i was just usin common sense like black_s13....a sil-80 is a combo of a silvia and a 180.
