That's where mine is, I removed the AF box "chambers" and relocated the EVAP back about 2" or so and up to the ledge with the air box. So it's just behind the left radiator tank. I used Parker Hi-Temp Push-Lok 250 psi 1/2" hose. Just added a oil pressure gauge.Sorry no pics yet, will buy a camera this week.tkd_q45 wrote:After looking under the hood, the only free space seems to be right next to the air filter.
I'm surprised that filter re-location is not more of a mod around here as it is a rather tight accesss to get to the filter.
I hate to rely solely on idiot lights, so I installed a mechanical gauge. It was a breeze since all I had to do was tap a fitting into the housing.Helps me keep an eye on what the pressure really is.blind6 wrote:Looks like I'll have to install it alittle differently due to different engine compartments. Is there a "must do" reason for the pressure gauge or is that optional?
do a filter change while sitting at Mc donalds drive through?elwesso wrote:can you take it into the cabin???
LOL!!! Thatd be great! I wsa talking about the gauge...chinaonnitrous wrote:do a filter change while sitting at Mc donalds drive through?
I did this on my first supercar ...a 1977 Vega. Dropped in a hyped Buick V-6 (long story) and had the mechanical oil pressure gauge in the dash, I thought it was cool to run really high oil pressure since it was so easy to turn out the big cap and stick in a different relief spring. I'm driving along at about 90 PSI and the flattened copper coil with the soldered end decides it can't take it anymore and sprays oil out of the dash. Too bad I was wearing my Joe Cool all-white outfit (it was the early 80's) on my way to some date or something "important". Good reason not to...elwesso wrote:can you take it into the cabin???
