I am planning to have my intake off to fix a coolant leak and I want to relocate my oil filter while I have easy access to it. But all the kits I see are for sr20's. I have seen a relocated oil filter on a ka24e before. But it was a long time ago and was actually on a race car that upgraded to a real fat oil filter while they had the oppratuneity. So my real question is, does any company make a bolt on kit or is it a custom job?

Most likely custom.

But I'd also like to know if there's a kit around. I'm not a fan of the current location.

Just to let you guys know. The oil relocation kit for a ford small block V8 like the 302 5.0 motor will work on the kA. We share the same thread pattern so look at summit and save a ton of money.

I tell everyone that our cars are the Fords of Japan. since I'm installing a dirt modified stroked 351w into my car once my Dang house is finished. Got to love how little things need to be modified to get a ford motor in one of these things, lol.....

Thats an added perk, but I want to do it while i have the chance, and because its a pain to replace the oil filter. So if i can spend $100 and make it worlds easyer, I think I should do it.

I would like to know to if its worth buying. I didnt know about the same as ford thing.

And yes, the filter is a b**** on the KA. Oil gets everywhere and in every crevase every 3000 mi. Its just annoying. The downfall is that theres a small drop in pressure, check for leaks, and more oil is needed.

$55 sounds more like it. F*** a whole lot of $270!

i hated the mess i made every time i changed the filter, so i just use plastic bag and keep it open right below the filter. makes a lot less mess.

I've searched a little bit and man, there are so many cheap kits out there, but basically they are all same. This is the cheapest($36.95) one I could find and everything included.

Bought this kit off eBay and installed last night. You need to buy 2 feet hose(Lowe's sells $1.74 per foot) and 4 clamps($.90 each). I love this mod. They fit perfectly and no more messy oil change...

Well when you change that filter upside down like that it wont make a mess?

Antidrainback keeps the oil in

I saw that thread earlier. Nissan OEM filter does have anti-drainback. I can see that flip thing through the holes.

This, would you mount it at least sideways?

Or put a short bolt through there with a set nut and a wing nut... wing it off and bam full access. I also don't like it upside down, looks like a future mess.
