I cant even explain the feeling properly. Im working on writing it all down right now. Hope to finish soon.Ajax wrote:Yeeaahhh!
It must have felt pretty awesome to finally be driving the car out there. Congratulations!

From the video I see you made some undocumented improvments...Red bull is outFlatBlackIan wrote: Voilà.
Indeed. The old knob is back in. As the resin cured, it shrunk just slightly, and left a gap between the can and the inside. You could knrinkle it, and that bugged me. Cale was supposed to make a second attempt, but more important things took precedence. I got this shift knob for my S14 in like 2002. When I got a new one for it, this one got transferred to my S13 coupe. It spent a little time in my hardbody, and now its in the rally car. Thing has some history. It used to have carbon fiber look on it, but now its mostly just black. Its a B&M, and I like the way it fits my hand.gmac708 wrote:From the video I see you made some undocumented improvments...Red bull is outFlatBlackIan wrote: Voilà.
Watch it on your ps3.alms24sebring wrote:Awesome! I cant wait to check it out on a computer with sound

Looks good. Get your confidence up alittle bit and take the corners a little faster and harder. Vid #4 was looking good!
I am really impressed with the overall video and soundFlatBlackIan wrote:I am actually really impressed with the sound
We weren't running stage notes (pace notes are not allowed). Because it was such a small event we were limited to tulips only. They give you info only for dangerous, or difficult to judge corners, like corners after blind crests, and stuff like that. As for not being able to hear, the car is LOUD. Like for serious, I am thinking about adding a resonator. I also plan on installing an output for the intercom system that plugs directly into the camera.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:I dunno dude, you look like you were hauling some a** for dirt. Sounded great, but I couldn't hear any pace notes.
Ian, she is Rally car, she must scream for you, eh? Do not muzzle her.FlatBlackIan wrote:Like for serious, I am thinking about adding a resonator.

Thanks Greg, i'll get back to you on that when I have an address. Being homeless sucks, stupid mortgage underwriter........AZhitman wrote:Ian - I got the resonator covered. Holler with an address.
Not sure, but I believe they are still living there. Haven't driven by to check.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:Break in. Its what I did. Hell, nobody is going to call the cops if nobody lives there. You can even turn your electricity on while you're there
Good to hear Mark. Fun is not nearly a loud enough word for what we were having. It was absolutely a blast.RallyB13 wrote:Nice write up Ian. What I see from my viewpoint (as one of the people putting on the event and who followed the whole event at a high level) is just how scattered you must have felt. I know the feeling, even at the low-key Nemadji where I made my competition debut, it felt that way.
There was nobody, not one other person, at the event having as much fun as you and Jen.
I've done road racing, and while I was on course, it was a complete blast. When it was done, I was like oh, that was cool, maybe I'll do it again. Rally is a whole different level, and you finish an event in a haze, spend the next week with a rally hangover, and then the craving to get back into the woods hits.
Hope to see you at NT1 in 18 days . . .
Dude seriously, wtf was the name of this skit?! I have been thinking of it for a long time and its really the ONLY SNL skit that I laughed at.CTGordon wrote:Ian, she is Rally car, she must scream for you, eh? I look forward to your updates. Looks like you have a ways to go before you can race again.
