So I finally got around to installing the Pulstar Spark plugs I got from
http://www.sparkplugs.com.
Like I said earlier, the packaging is pretty nifty. Sealed in pairs, threaded into cases, wow.
They are so pretty I almost dont want to put them into the car.
EWww, see what I mean? Still muddy from Omaha.
The autolites that came out. With only 100 miles on them or so, they are already carboned up. I really need to fix the CTS. These were a bandaid fix after the failing fuel pump sending unit destroyed my last set of decent plugs.
The Iridium tips on the Pulstar's look nice compared to the elcheapo copper autolite's. Too bad I was being captain shaky hands, and I blurried up the picture.
New plugs installed, and torqued to spec.
I finished by using some of the included dielectric grease to enhance conduction, then I reinstalled the plug wires.
First impressions. The engine seems to cold idle better, which is good, because it did not cold idle at all before. The warm idle seems unchanged, but it idled perfectly when hot before, so alls well that ends well.
With only a little time behind the wheel, its hard to notice any difference, but it does pull well all the way to readline. I will report back about them once I get some solid practice time in.
Before leaving for the night, I'll throw up the pictures of the reinstalled rear windows. Im still a few rivets short for the hatch window, but you get the idea, I think it turned out really slick.
Just a few more things, and it will be time to start body work.
