Haha you say sell your spot....... the poor people that want out probably cant sell their spots because no one wants a piece of what your offering, product or customer service wise. That is s***ty business, let the people out of the GB for gods sakes and promote the open spot on your own thats YOUR JOB. It should be up to you as a "business man" to do whats right for the reputation of retrolite, the very fact that you wont do refunds is appalling. Its YOUR fault you went and spent the deposits it is NOT the customers problem. And in the end how can you expect anyone to be happy with an item they don't/no longer want? you WILL clearly get a negative response on your product?!

And yes... I am lucky I got out of my spot, but in fact I payed the price by:1. Being out of 500 for 6 months! (with accumulated interest)2. Having to wait even longer to find someone to buy my spot (you could have refunded me and then promoted your product back on this thread) that is not the customers job.3. having to absorb the paypal fee (which is money lost for...nothing!)

Thats my story posted for the boards... Brandon I totally supported you and in return you treated me poorly.... if you were truly focused on the future success of your business you would treat all your customers fairly ---> the way you would want to be treated. END RANT.

i get what your saying, how is it my fault that i went and bought the supplys, i shouldnt be left holding the bag, for you to say i treated you poorly isnt accurate, i helped you find someone to sell your spot to i offered to do the same with other people it can even be on the subaru club as long as the parts get used or its a smaller item it doesnt matter ill eat that cost. even though some people are saying that my lights are this and that i still get a ton of emails a day asking to get a set of lights done and i will happily offer those spots to them. people email me and say i heard whats going on with the groupbuy and what not but i dont care i still want my lights done, they know i offer to fix them and i warranty them. if someone wants out of there spot email me and ill help you find someone to take it over i would be happy to do that for you. the subaru guys love me as well as the lancer club thats local here, havnt had one complaint from them and ive been doing lights for them for over 2 years now. i cant be responsible for shipping but ive started to take other precautions, im ordering in the shock pads that say if a packaged is damaged or not and insuring the package for double what its worth just to avoid any headaches. i shouldnt need to but ill pay the extra money for the pacakging and the shipping stickers (sensor ones) just to make sure everyones covered.

hope this helps clarify things. if your still on the fence and are left in the groupbuy ill do your lights on a spare set and if your not happy with the spare set send them back to me ill eat the shipping and we can go from there on what you want done. hope this helps makes things easier for you guys

Love the look.

Sounds like it wasn't clear that the deposits were non-refundable.

ok, in defense....

when we were all in carlisle, we all knew surmans was a secondary set. i was foolin w/ him the entire time about it lol

but seriously- i was the other guy who had my lights for carlisle and u all liked em... sure i waited, it was worth the wait, so we have all learned not to ever use hot glue on a light, and use JB Weld from now on- these are all things we never knew about in the first place.

We all waited for our lights, we all paid a lot for them, there may be negatives, but we at least need to be appreciative that someone came out of the woodwork and did this for us. we, signing up for it is our own fault that sumthing happened negatively.

we cant do anything about a death in the family or a family pet etc, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt at first to do this for us. we were told by numerous companies about the problems with our perfectly glued nissan lights, which is why no company wanted to step up.

i waited just like u all, i even drove to him to get my 2nd light. i went through problems too, but i didnt spam it in this chat. i went one on one w/ him and he helped me threw it no problem.

i might be one of the few that is being positive, but where there is a fault, there is a gain. weve all learned from experiences, weve grown from them. so lets just all grow up, finish the processes and move on.

I still am thankful that someone, in this case, brandon came forward and helped w/ our lights. I kno dangeris and surman are too, yes we went through sum tuff shyt but look at our cars and our lights now. were happy with them after all this happened.

Thank you.

Even though it may not have been spelled out, you're not dealing with some huge company that has the resources to have all the parts needed. Some of these things needed to be sourced up front so that work could begin.

Be positive.

really guys leave Brandon alone he is doing everything in his power to get everyone's lights done you have to realize that shipping plays a big part in it all i know for a fact that Brandon aims and adjust the lights what can you do if shipping damages the lights. as far as my current lights they look amazing and i am thankful to brandon and all his hard work y. yes it did take a long time to do and yes im going to be working on my lights again by myself to fix them aim because it shifted but brandon is an honest guy who is not trying to screw you over he just wants to get this group buy done asap

people just have nothing better to do cuz its a forum if brandon really wanted to he could just disappear and tell everyone to go f*** themselves what the rest of the people on nico dont understand that when your doing things by hand their are certain complications that come up and can not be avoided if you don't like it don't sign up for it thats the risk you take to be the first.

by the way if anyone wants to see my headlights in detail check brians post from h.i.n he used his dslr so you can zoom in as much as you want to see the lights.

any questions about brandons work any One CAN EMAIL ME [email protected]

oh and btw as soon as GLI got the tails back from LBC he took them right out the box and plugged them into his coupe and had no problem with his electrical system, and still has them on his car to this day with no problems. dont be so quick to blame the tails when LBC has other electrical mods on his car that can cause the issues.

i can understand its still trial by error, but blatant ignorance from some for one who has tried to make sumthing for us that we've wanted is totally different, hence why brandon is still around. hes helped us, hes a good guy, and just like all things- things take time.

plus, instead of another retrofit, ppl can now go get the anzo LED tails... which are less than the taillight retrofit. and no one has to go threw the same probs...

Yep, Brandon has been in constant contact with me. The reason why it takes so long LBC is because people are not sending their stock lights to him. He has to try and find them on eBay or get the people to order them and send them or direct ship from the eBay seller to him.

Personally this is what I did. After a few weeks of looking around we found some on eBay and he ordered them and I sent the cash. He has been in constant contact with me. However he does have a day job and a personal life. Certainly a set of lights are not going to be done over night. That's just impossible.

For instance, I know he was working on a WRX as well and that took a few days to even get things together and the car was in his garage. I can't speak for other people's experiences but mine has been 100% excellent so far for customer service.

Just so people know my setup:

Black housingsStock amber reflectorNo LEDS.Gat gun surrounds.Bi Xenon setup with 6000K HIDs.

Brandon and I communicate through BlackBerry Messenger and e-mail almost daily.

It took a week or two to get in my supplies (gat gun surrounds, lenses, bulbs, other materials). Then another couple weeks for us to find headlights on ebay because I needed to drive my car and couldn't ship mine). Then once the lights arrived Brandon started working on them. I told him explicitly to take his time with them so they turn out wonderful. I am in no rush for them, however I can't wait until they get in the car lol.

The plan with mine is to have them done when my turbo gear gets here so I can do everything at once.

As for my experiences so far: A+++

The time, skill and effort it takes to make these... especially one person doing it is a lot. Especially with the Altima lights.

I don't know if it's a Canadian thing or not but I find the members that had great success like Mehdi explained for Brandon to take his time. The more time he has the better the turn out. I knew from the get go that it was going to be months before you actually receive them. Maybe 3 weeks at the least IF you have everything ready to go. Factor in shipping time, etc.

Also things break in shipping. I've order other odds and ends that were packed very well and they still wound up here broken. I'm hoping Canada Post does a better job with my packages this time around than it has in the past.. even my rims that were packaged by 1010tires and sent through UPS still were dinged up a bit...

Anyways I'm not defending anyone or anything, I'm just explaining how it is based on my experience and I think it's completely fine.

Thus far it's been really good between Brandon and I. If anything, it's me who's been lacking in the communication department.

This takes time, should have been expected when people placed the orders. One by one they will get done.

BTW here is one of mine in progress:

Changed the surround, it looks great . Just needs a halo and cleanup then that one is done. Nothing fancy = win.

Patience is the key.

Brandon sent me more updated pics on BB Messenger:

I can't wait until they get here! :D
