Since when are birth certificate's public record?Armelius wrote:It's a public record so make it public. Gov. Linda Lingle hasn't sent me a copy of it.
Its not. The bold text at the bottom clearly indicates the document is prima facie evidence of birth. Sure, it could be forged as any document can, but this document in that of itself does not support in any way shape or form that Obama was born outside of the states.Armelius wrote:That doesn't look like an original to me.
Perhaps the term is altrered for official copies to be more politically correct.Armelius wrote:But race his father is African? Doesn't sound right at all. Someone screwed up and that sure looks like people are covering things up.
If you're talking about that certificate compared to the '61 certificate, of course it's not going to match. That certificate was printed in 2007 looks like.Cold_Zero wrote:They said something about the border of the certificate changes each year and that the border does not match 1961's border.
Surely. But if you were to go to the office where such records are kept and try to search for a fake document, it would not be there. An official in Hawaii confirmed it exists. Keep in mind, there were at least 2 parties this would have had interest in this issue. Neither took the issue up once it was confirmed. You're grasping at straws.Armelius wrote:I have heard of people faking their birth certificates, social security cards and even {gasp} drivers licenses.
Tell you what. Lets make your SSN# and BC public. Post the info here. Give us your home address while you're at it. I guarantee someone with malicious intent will find it and use it to benefit themselves. We can't ask the president to give up his personal info. He has already satisfied the other branches of government. They are the checks and balances.Armelius wrote:If birth certificates especially one of a presidential candidate, is kept secret then we have nothing but a secret government. Votes should be public too. Looking at a piece of paper with no verification whatsoever also means we have a secret government.
When it comes down to it noone is assuredly above anything that can be deemed immoral. We ALL have the capacity to do wrong. You are simply assuming the worse. But it seems you are the only one with such a high level of paranoia over something that has such a small probablility of being an issue.Armelius wrote:A secret government is not an open government. Just look what the politicians have been doing in Chicago recently. You think Obama is above Chicago politics?
Well, I see you're not above using propaganda tactics. Trying to use a broader scope of an issue to raise panic and fear without being able to actually prove that such a threat exists (in this case, that Obama was not born in Hawaii) is just that. Try actually proving point one before trying to assert point two is valid.Armelius wrote:If you are cool with everyone running around with fake documents, a system that encourages secrecy and back room dealings then I suppose there is no need to complain or be concerned because we wouldn't be that much different than those governments we opposed during WWI or WWII and least of all USSR.
They're avoiding it because it's a stupid non-issue and they're not going to give it the time of day.Armelius wrote:I don't have to prove or disprove anything. The fact that the press is avoiding it
And EVERY SINGLE elected official in existence has made the "informed decision" that this is stupid and irrelevant.Armelius wrote:The whole reason why we have a representative republic is because people used to live so far away from DC so they elected someone who might be informed to go to DC and make an informed decision for them.

He's not getting away with anything.Armelius wrote:But if he can get away with it I think that is great too.
Last time I checked, that's the whole point to a debate, is to prove your side and disprove the other.Armelius wrote:I don't have to prove or disprove anything.

Doh!
Ok, and I'm just saying that you need to learn how to play the game we have here or else this is what you should expect from us here on out. You can't just come in here and spew crap and not have anything to back it up with or an ability to prove your point. Even the members in here who are conservatives (which have outnumbered the liberals in the past, not sure if it's still true) and campaigned hard against Obama are against you. It's not a matter of ignorance or apathy or the media not focusing on it. In fact, the same thing was being said of McCain.Armelius wrote:Ok. And I just said I am going to take the Governor of Illinois side in something more worthy of my time.
