That makes your candidate a bad guy." If you are going to spread the spam going around about someone's integrity, you DO have a responsibility to verify each point.
This is an online discussion forum. I don't have the responsibility to verify a damn thing if I don't want to. I posted it up for discussion and it's being discussed.
srellim234 wrote:I'm not supporting either candidate at this point, but you can definitely point the finger at McCain, too. In his quest to show how much stronger he is on foreign policy he identified the wrong faction in Iraq multiple times and insists on missile defense for Checkoslovakia, which is no longer in existence. Is he lying or making a mistake? Or worse, incompetent?
He's a dumbass just like Obama.
srellim234 wrote:How does the religious right feel about supporting an adulterer? McCain was cheating on his wife, leading to the divorce. Failing to live up to his wedding vows.
We've already discussed this, read more threads.
srellim234 wrote:Yes a man is only as good as his word and integrity. I also don't believe that in today's political world you can get to the Oval Office with a lot of either. Federal politics is simply corrupt.
I actually agree.
srellim234 wrote:It's really unfortunate that people no longer feel compelled or understand the need to come together and compromise. The political climate, which has spilled over to forums like these, is simply, "No compromise. Simply trash the other guy's reputation with lies and innuendo and we'll get our way without compromising anything."
I compromise all the time. At the point that I feel I am compromising 90% of the time as compared to those who take and take then I begin to say "FU"
srellim234 wrote:Polarization like this might feel good for your political party, but it is not what's best for the country.
Neither candidate is worth a crap so what does it matter at this point? 4 more years of BS. I just agree with Mac more than Obama. If Hillary had made it I would not be quite so sure who to vote for.

Yes, I've sent this thread in the ridiculous direction it deserved to be sent from the start. Whenever a "reported source" is proven to be 50% false, then you need to dismiss the other half as unreliable. After you dismiss it, you start googlewacking for entertainment.
Dude, anything I post negative about Obama is dissmissable. I mean, really, like Obama supporters really care in the first place. He's a rock star dammit and he deserves to be respected just like the actors in Hollywood. He brings change and hope and that's all we need.

at this point your dissmissable and anything you say is really frankly becoming useless except for the sake of pissing people off. Your arguement revolves around us dismissing your admitted lies... you prove nothing and frankly bring nothing to the discussion. audtatious-

YOU started this thread with a list of quotes and titled, "Obama's lies". Matter of fact, no documentation, no disclaimer, no source, no qualification on your part, presenting them as fact with all the responsibility for the truth that Fox "News" and MSNBC display when they take things out of context or fabricate them. As someone who is relatively new to this particular forum, what your post indicated to me by having no comment attached what was that you believed the list was true and proven.

At least put your source on it along the lines of "Look at what I got by email..." or "look at the latest that's going around...". Whether you believe it or not might be nice, too.

Since when is this about Bush? Oh yeah, can't think of anything then you blame it all on Bush.

If your party could put up a decent politition over the last 8 years you could have had the presidency. You couldn't so go sulk elsewhere.

Your list is one that snopes.com has begun systematically breaking down, having already dispelled 22 of them. No comment yet on the others but with their reputation I'm sure they will continue to investigate the others and let us know.

If you want to put something up for discussion you should do so rather than just stating something as fact, not open for debate. You presented them as facts, even though many of them aren't true.

Cost more lives and spent more money than any president before him? Is that what you were trying to say? If so, what about WWII? In today's dollars it would be around $12 trillion spent and there were 416,000 US military deaths.

If he really said that, I have a hard time believing that it would have never came up during election times, or that he would even be elected as president. That's the first time I've ever heard that one and can't find anything about it.

Show me where I personally presented them as fact? I posted a list of Obamas lies that are posted on the 'net for debate and used the information posted with the points to debate other members. This thread has been quite the comic ride.

Reread your title and opening post. You titled it "Obama lies" and simply listed them. No commentary, no invitation to discuss, simply posted as fact. If you weren't posting them as factual, why didn't you say so?

oh audi, you are so right. this thread is full of WIN. while i cant say i agree with anything your OP said and the subsequent discussion on the validity of these statements, i can say that there is a bit of deification of Obama. Could it be because he is a breath of fresh air after 8+ years of sewer air? i honestly try to stay away from the crazies on both sides. for me, obama's approach to things work more than johnny mac. now if we could only get goldwater alive and willing to run for prez, then we'd have something...

Cuz that's too easy

If you notice, I usually do post who the source is and/or link. This was too good to pass up.

I simply do not see where Obama is going nor trust him. He does not give any details as to how he is going to finance his change and that is scarey. BUT, that is for another thread and not this one.

I wait for the days of a true conservative to take reins but it's obviously not going to be this election....Would be nice if Republicans in Congress would get conservative but I don't see that happening either.

Matt, he's going to raise taxes. But, listen, McCain is going to raise taxes. Taxes are going up, up, up. Why, because we have anywhere from a 3 to 5 trillion dollar debt from the Iraq war to pay for. We're going to pay for that with higher taxes, for a long tme no matter who wins. We're going to pay for that by not seeing other needed governmental programs.

Taxes are going up no matter who you vote for. Obama favors raising them for the 250+/- thousand class, while McCain favors the tax raise for the middle class. Your choice, but in reality TAXES are GOING to GO UP either way./comment.

***MOD NOTE***

Threads are posted to this forum as a favor to the forum to fuel political discussion, even heated discussion. All we ask is that it remains a polite heated discussion.

jbracy7, There is really no need to touch on race the way you did. I don't think it (race) is an issue with anyone posting here, and certainly, no one is a bigot. That's why your post was edited.

Knowing there was going to be money needed for the war I primarily blame Congress for continuing their spending cycles while wearing blinders. I blame Bush for not surging the effort earlier to get us where we may have been better off or done by now.

Mac more seems directed at lowering taxes for the middle class (remove AMT, double personal exemptions for children) and lowering the federal corporate tax rate to 25%. He states he would like to set a 3/5 majority vote in congress to raise taxes. He wants to lower estate taxation to 15% and wants to maintain current investment and income tax rates. etc etc etc...Per his talking points of course. Then again, he is a politician and I'm sure can talk out of both sides of his mouth like the rest of them.

When Ronny became governor of California, it was in a mess similar to the economic mess that GW is leaving to Obama. Regan turned it around and made it all work. If Regan was running again, I'd be voting for him.

Actually Matt, it's relative. You should have seen Gray Davis. Davis made Bush look like Einstein. We fired (recalled) Davis and Arnie was there for Calie-fooorn-ya when we needed someone not brain dead. So, to answer your question, yes, he didn't do that bad.

Although, those were good days in the sense that I would email Davis every week and ask if he was planning to resign, or if he wanted to face the humiliation of being recalled. I never got anything more than a "thank you for your email" back from him. Free speech is a great thing.
