streetlifetour:

Nice set up. I like to see a properly built S chassis monster for the track. I have mine built for the track also. Lots of top end (GT2876, 280 cams)nothing on the lower power band. Don't need it 1/4 mile the car, all our driving is between 5.5k and 8.5K and clipping apexes at 130

With your displacement a little larger than stock do you have better throttle response? Also, if you do not mind me asking. What is your fuel pressure? 469 on 660's is incredible. I am at 340whp on 550's at 95% duty cycle.

streetlifetour- I like ur set up i have almost the exact same setup planed for my road course datsun 510. question though... what rpm is ur boost coming in and are u running a stock head or have u done some port work? im only looking for 400rwhp so now ur setup has me thinking i can go with a gt2871r or gt2876r to reduce the lag time...thanks

oh almost forgot whats ur cr? i was planing 9.0:1 to help off boost throttle response

2871 will spool much quicker than a 2876. I am running a 2876 .86 with 280 camsstarts spooling at 3500 and full spool comes on at 4200. Laggy but holds 18lbs all the way to 8500 with no drop off.

11.65 @ 120, 1.88 60' (junk). First time ever out with the car with the new setup, and probably last, as it's nto really what the car is setup for. With a 'street' alignment and more practice I have no doubt the car would run a 11.0 Oh well. If I decided to get the car and take out all the nice stuff it's easily a high 10 @ 122ish car.

If you could hit 10's with only a little over 400whp, that would be just crazy, lol. I honestly doubt it. I'll be trying to hit 10's this season with 450whp, and I launch pretty good. I honestly don't know if the 450whp will do it. Low 11's, definitely, but high 10's will be a stretch. Remember, when you hook up better, your trap speed goes down, not up.

If I take weight out, and change the suspension to a more drag oriented (not with 3* of camber, not with toe in the rear, not with full caster in the front, not with suepsnion full stiff, etc etc.

I see no issue with the car getting into that area. Obviously an S13 to start with woulda been nicer, but what can i say. Think of it this way: I cut a 1.88 and went 11.65 = imagine if I cut a 1.58/.160 that would put me damn near 11.0/11.1 just as the car sits....again, take out all the extra crap, and for sure it'll see a 10.xx. A 400 hp car @ 2600-2800 lbs should have no issue in the 10's....

If not, I can always crank up the boost and run race gas too...but that will never happen...track days > drag days for me. "Not to bad with a gt28".

My car weighs in at 2540 lbs without me in it, I cut 1.61 60 fts, and I barely got into the 11's. Of course I had no top end due to stock cams, but I did have 342hp/336tq at the wheels at the time. Now I have cams and all the jazz, so we'll see when I get the motor broken in, and I should be running more HP than you have. It just seems to be a little far fetched to me honestly. I've been drag racing 240s for 5 years now, and the 10 second 240s that I've been around make well over 400whp and they were cutting better 60 fts than I do. I guess only time will tell, lol.
