Oh i was unaware you bought Z32 springs. We have documented evidence that these springs simply do not work on the Q45.

After you cut the springs for a 2" drop go immediately to a Q junkyard and find some newish Q springs to replace the cut units with.

It will be a learning experience.

I would also like to hear from anyone who's had cut springs or even springs that were heated to lower. I know what the purists think, I'd like to hear from anyone who's done it.

Here's what I know. Cutting or using a torch will change the spring rates and will/may have less than optimal ride. I have never used cut springs but I have used a torch to heat my springs on a chevy truck I had in high school (which was years ago) and it had a decent ride. The truck, like most of our Q's, wasn't going to be doing any racing or track days but it was far from a parking lot queen, I put thousands of miles on it.

Not looking for a debate on if it's right or not, I think a few of us are just looking for information on the best way to cut them properly and opinions of people who have personally experienced it, not theory as we all know the drawbacks to taking the shortcut/cheap route to lowering but since we may not have any more lowering spring options, cutting/torching may be a last resort if we want a lowered Q....after all, you can always pick up some OEM springs if you really hate it and put it back to stock.

I have all the springs. I'm not interested in anybodys bitching and moaning, so save it. I wasn't happy with the price on the last group buy, so I re-negotiated with Simon and got a better price by purchasing all of them. I sent a large amount of money to a person I've never done business with before, so I've been waiting until I had them in hand before I offered them up. They're sitting in my shop, and they are available only to NICOclub members. Of the 13 sets I got, one is going on my car, one I'm keeping, and one is spoken for. That leaves 10. If you want a set, indicate so here and give me your zip code. I will contact you directly with a shipping quote. The price is $145 plus shipping. That is my cost. Not fees, and not a penny in my pocket. If you want to look up shipping costs yourself, the package will be 35 lbs, the size is 23 in. x 13 in. x 8 in., and it will be shipped from 98502.

Looks like this may turn out all good int he end. The Cal Customs are available to NICO members, the price may be slghtly cheaper AND you don't have to ask Wes for them . (He'll love that one)

Everyone's quick to judge before knowing the whole story. I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm glad it was someone that is going to hook us all up that bought them all up!

Thanks!

When you were organizing the last group buy, 7 people indicated they wanted them. However, having been faced with the prospect of not having any more springs, all of a sudden everybody wants them. I've got more people who want springs than I have springs. I could still put them on e'bay, and while everybody would be all pissed off about it, they would all be sold and I'd make a bunch of money doing it. Let's not pretend that I'm only doing this because I have no other options.

Maybe its just because I am not involved in this buy and have no financial interest in it... but, you seem like a real *******. Sure, yeah, whatever, its nice the group still gets there springs. But, this type of d!ck behavior makes the future prospect of a group buy on other items less likely.

Maybe I am not understanding the situation since everyone else seems happy to buy on this deal. But, to me, this seems just moronic. Free enterprise is a great thing, and I'm all for it... but then, I expect to business with people who behave with some honor. That seems to be lacking here.
