Aries, I have been considering welding my spider-gears to accomplish better straight line traction... Where did you locate a spool setup for the 240's??? Alan

We built one.If you weld the gears, they will break.

I ran a- -15.014et at 94.56 mph.- -That's w/ about a 75 shot cutting off at the 1/8 mile.

your 3rd and 4th gear is where i would spray...your 60ft must suck bad

^^negative , well on that run yes 2.333sec , with a 9.5sec 1/8e.t. But my best 60 ft. is a 1.905sec juiced on street tires! To bad I always misshift on the the good passes. Bad trans. Darn third gear.LOL.

thats what i thought ive gotten a 2.0 on street tires.....but anyways your syncro going out on in 3rd?

I will be one of the only people to hit 14's na and i havent even touched the inside of my motor......bfg drag radials...stage 1 clutch, fidanza flywheel, injen cai, hotshot headers, 2 1/2 inch custom exhaust (no cats), electric fan (stock fan removed) that should get me there. ive beaten a few of my friends that run 14.9 and ive either beaten them or hung (13's with 75 shot of nitrous this summer)

you might hit 14's with that... but i can tell you, the same setup on an altima, which mod for mod, is still the faster car, wont get 14's. im not trash talking either, just telling you that i dont see it happening.

It grinds into 2nd , 3rd and 4th. I have to really make sure and hope that my trans is in gear , or else misshift city. The trans works fine when I'm not trying to kill it. That trans is limiting me so much. Plus it makes a lot of noise and vibrations in 1st and 2nd gear. 3rd is smooth. I have a new trans on the side that I bought for $100. When I swap it in I think I would easily shave 1 second off my 1/4 mile and gain at least 8 mph. The only problem is choosing a darn clutch!!!

Quick question : Should I lighten and resurface my stock flywheel for $120 or buy a lightweight flywheel for $3-400.

unfortunately true.The 240 will "FEEL" faster, but the altima will put down a better time.

lol, thats opinion though. i agree that 240's look pretty nice, but for a 4 door, i like my altima.

Ah, but don't forget that the 240SX has better traction than the Altima. It might have more power, but not useable power.

if its putting down the better time... obviously its not an issue. now ill agree though, thats only up to a certain point, then rwd is superior to the fwd. but for simple bolt ons and nothing too extreme, the altima will still be faster.

I am hooking up my zex kit and i i wanted to know if you guys still have the EGR stuff hooked up...cuz i threw out my stock stuff....and if i do need it does anyone have one sitting around?

I got them from my local nissan dealer for 550 shipped...first gear is almost non existant...i raced a friend of mine who is bone stock (also a 93 coupe) and at the end of third gear i had about 3 or 4 cars (and i missed 3rd the first try)

damn is it that big of a difference from stock gearing.....cause i know top end is killing me

Yes it is a big difference....unfortunately i am going about 99 when my rev limiter kicks in...I dunno my speed exactly because i have 245/40/17 on the back and the gears threw off my HUD even more...on the interstate i stay at about 4K RPM!

dont worry im on 215-40-17 heres a link 2 my pics.@90 im @ about 4 grand 2. Reason im asking is because im trying 2 get top end. 1st and 2nd pull hard 3rd and 4th die down.click here

well the gears don't give you any more power...they just get you to and through the power range faster.....third gear was a big difference from stock....i am going to the track sunday with a dry 55 shot....what is everyone's oppinion on what i will run...look at my sig for my previous run...When should arm the nitrous? i was thinking right after i shift to second...
