Yes, Altimas.net was awsome..and crazy active!! I miss it.audtatious wrote:That site is owned by a company that has a large number of auto-based websites. They take a successful (tho sometimes struggling) website and buy them out. Then they change them around (nissanclub used to be altimas.net) and use their success to make money from advertisers, thus they count on the members continuing to keep the site active in order to continually charge premium ad space to others. I remember when the site was still altimas.net and it was VERY active. When it was bought out and changed to nissanclub it started going downhill to the point that it is simply a shell of what it used to be. The new owners were not there to support Altima and Nissan owners, simply there to make a buck. It showed and Altima owners dispersed away from it. Over the last few years I have watched the activity on that site go down to the point that it is beginning to stagnate.
That's just how Altimas.net was run.....I anticipate loads of fun here to be hadaudtatious wrote:Well, hopefully we can continue to build up NICO for the Altima gang. As this forum becomes more and more busy then it will eventually be split into new sub-forums to support the Altima community.
One big thing that is different about us and nissanclub is that we are owned and run by Nissan enthusiasts. We want to see the site grow and we want to help the community.
Been around since Late 2001 when I got my 02 in October 01...........I am pretty sure I have heard all of the questions and answers10 foldtheonedub wrote:^ I'm sure that us migrating from NissanClub to Nico know about searching before posting. Its not as if we didn't have a search function.
a lot of negativity on that site.. its like someone disagrees with the other.. and then just puts them down, but other than that it was a great site.audtatious wrote:That site is owned by a company that has a large number of auto-based websites. didn't mean to insult anyone, but lately we've had a string of folks posting threads asking redundant qustions that they could have found using the search function!theonedub wrote:^ I'm sure that us migrating from NissanClub to Nico know about searching before posting. The ZeroForums search can be a challenge at times to utilize. The FAQ above should have a "how to" to make things a bit easier to find. Else, simply ask.theonedub wrote:^ I'm sure that us migrating from NissanClub to Nico know about searching before posting. Its not as if we didn't have a search function.
There can be negativity and drama on just about any forum. Being a relatively emotionless medium, there are times when people read something they take as a slap or flame, thus things erupt. We actually frown on it here and try to keep things as civil as possible. Of course, we always have our momentsShadyAltima wrote:a lot of negativity on that site.. its like someone disagrees with the other.. and then just puts them down, but other than that it was a great site.
no offense rjd, but this is a free post forum and you really aren't an admin so...rjdmmfl1 wrote:

it starts already... lol... look dude, lately newbies have been getting flamed for posting redundant threads and asking "the same" questions that have been asked 10 times over... doesn't really matter to me one way or another, just thought I'd save folks from the flaming that's sure to come. it has happened and will happen again.. but hey, feel free to post as many redundant questions as you like! Don't be so sensitive dude, just trying to help out the newbies!08altima35 wrote:

so what if something has been covered a dozen times and someone's asking again because they would like a fresher more educated opinion. looks like there will be more users on here with i'm sure different opinions and different outcomes to problems. maybe keep that in mind when directing people on how to go about things.
The Gen Chat is pretty good for that. If you have a video or something to share it goes in the Multimedia forum.Adhesive wrote:That would be hilarious if there was no warning and the new owners plan on letting the domain name lapse. Oh, well...does this place have an Off Topic section somewhere among the 18,000 sub-forums?
