You have your .net home, and I have mine.

I'd come around here more often if it were a bit more organized (like with sub forums). Thats my only real beef with Nico. Its hard to find things when everything is meshed into one forum. This also leads to repetitive questions being asked by new members.

Thanks for welcoming us though. I'll hang around a bit.

Tell ya what, after going to NissanClub.com and reading through the AC forum, I am even happier with NICO and happy to call it my home.

The AC thread on NC is like reading from a honda thread site. Just about every comment is slamming the AC, calling it overpriced, crappy manufacture, cheap plastic, blah, blah, blah. Hard to believe I was even on a Nissan thread. I just don't get it, but to each his own.

NICO is much MUCH more positive, and at least has Nissan owners that love their cars and arnt trash talking them. I'm glad I found this site first, cause it motivated the purchase of my AC, and I absolutely love it, and it continues to grow on me. If I had gone to NC first, and bought that negative crap, I might have missed out on a great car.

My only "gripe" is that like another poster mentioned, I don't think the categorization is proper on Nico. Its a bit difficult to navigate...I would rather it have its own domain name for just the forums, or have the forums link in another place other then the top of the screen. The usability is OK, though it took me a second to find the post button. I guess its like anything else that is new, it just takes some time to get used to it. Ultimately, I would love for the Altima Coupe/Sedan be separated. If not that, at least have sub categories for the different generations.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I personally do not like the Altima Coupe either. I don't like how it looks and I don't like the pricing. Being that the coupe is the frist of its generation, I would expect it to be slammed and labeled as crap, just like the 2002 Altima was.

Also, I do agree that its over priced. C'mon...$30k for the 3.5 coupe...I would rather buy the 350Z.

Somtimes, we need harsh critics to tell us that we are being naive.

Oh come on..Cheap plastic and overpriced is not limited to the AC...that's what Nissan is all about.....You either accept it and love it...Or cry when reality is thrown in your face...I have accepted it...

Good suggestions.

I will be meeting with my Admin Team this week to look into implementing some of the reorganization that you guys are so interested in...

I'd still like to hear from some of the NC mods...

well for my 3.5se coupe I payed 26k, near 30k but not 26k. I wasnt looking for used or anything else besides "new." (i'm dumb like that lol) And to me it was a financial choice of saving 3-5k for a Z or G. And like everyone else says its all personal choice, you like it? drive it. All the Z's on the lot were at 29k and above, then with tax and license, and etc. fees It'll have me a bit financially troubled.

Regardless of what the Altima coupe is, each of us has purchased it/not purchased it for our own personal reasons. Let bygones be bygones, and respect others' choices, even if you don't agree with them.

NC made a mistake by seperating the A/C and the sedan, there aarent that many coupe owners on that site so the coupe forum is deserted...but the thing is about NC is that there is a little bit more info, and A LOT LESS reposts, the ownly beef i have with NC is that some of the mods are d!ck, and the mods of the 4th gen forum dont even own a fourth gen

I don't think many people know its up yet. Also, its the holidays. People probably on trips and spending time with their families.

Anywho, it just takes time for new Altima forums to develop. 1st and 2nd gen are doing pretty well. When the 3rd gen came out, it went through the same crap that the current 4th gen forums are going through now. But several years later, look how well developed the 3rd gen forum is.

Good point. I'll try to spend my time here and there. It would be better if there could be just one dedicated forum that is neatly organized and pleases all, but we know that that is just wishful thinking.

Those are good points. I got the feeling that most of the opinions expressed were by those who did not have the AC, but still wanted to cap on it. THe mods on this site are great, good management styles and respectful. That makes a big difference.

Before I bought the AC I did excessive research into ALL alternatives. FOr $30,000 out the door, IMO it was the best thing available. And, I would do the same thing again. I didnt think the options even came close (with the exceptioin maybe the accord coupe, but comparably equipped that was more money).

I seriously considered getting a 2 or 3 year old G35 or used IS250, but I honestly liked the idea of a new AC over a used G35, and (call me crazy) after driving both (G35 and AC) I liked the AC better, for a variety of reasons, among which it felt quicker.

Littel off topic, but this site has given me great support in a positive manner without a lot of flamers and haters. Some thrive off of being negative and wanting to find fault and rag on people. To each his own, but that's not my style. i also like the way we have the sedans and the coupers in the same forum, it seems to be working here.

NC is member centric.

Nico is mod centric.

It seems that NC gets its character from the members and Nico gets its character from the mods.

haaha, good terms. I would call NICO topicentric, the focus stays on the cars, on the topics, that's personally what I am here for. I don't see much mod influence, and what I have seen has been appropriate, not excessive, rigid or overly controlling.

I don't have enough expereience to judge NC as a whole, my expereince was only limited to the AC forum, but it didn't leave me feeling real warm and fuzzy, or with much desire to go back.

NC felt out of order, and many of the posts were not on topic.

I wouldn't say so. NICO is community centric. The staff are here to help others, fix the occasional issue, are also Nissan enthusiasts and we enjoy the forum, members and our own participation within NICO. We are not the driving force here, our members are.

Right, but it seems like a lot of members are influenced by the mod's behaviors.

Maybe I just haven't been here long enough.

Are you used to a site where the mods don't care or misbehave themselves? We tend to lead by example for the most part.

If you are looking for a site where support to the community is provided along with camaraderie, then NICO is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to run rampant then NICO is probably not the place for you in that particular aspect.

Some people like that, some don't.

you are right, it is about the mods. No one wants to pis$ off a mod cause they may ban you for having an opinion that they dont agree with. I was banned a few times for that. But im back on and no problems

Most of the mods at Nissan Club are pretty cool. They just aren't the best examples. There are only a few mods that are bungholes but I haven't had any counters with them.

I am used to a site where the mods don't really care all that much. They seem like just another member. There's no real sense of leadership anywhere. Thats just what I'm used to.

I hope you guys aren't getting the impression that I dislike this place. Thats not it at all. I'd love to be a little more active here if it were a bit more organized like I had mentioned earlier.

Aside from that, I still prefer NC because thats where most of the 3rd genners reside

I haven't been here that long, but I do know that it's not THAT easy to get banned. Not every mod has the power to ban a member. If you have a difference in opinion, then so be it, you're not going to get banned for that, trust me. But, if you come off as being a big pain in the you know what, then maybe. Everything that takes place here on NICO is for the better of the community as a whole, not for one person in particular. Like I said, I haven't been here too long so I don't know what happened to you, but I do know you didn't get banned for having a difference in opinion.

I say, go where you feel more comfortable.

If you like NC more, for your own personal reasons, then go there. Nobody should stop you.

If you like NICO more, you're welcome here.

End of story.

This thread is awesome

I love the exchange of information on this topic.

Matt and Eric said it very nicely. We are tight here, we look after eachother. We have meets and events. Its a good time here.

Some folks like a different aspect of an auto forum, enter NissanClub. Fine by me. In fact I know a lot of you frequent other boards to get your fix We aren't married, you can go elsewhere. Just remember where your home is

Since I do not see where you were ever banned, what was it for and what was that screen name?

I honestly do not see how this site is all about "The Mods" unless I am totally misunderstanding you.
