Nissan President Info/Pics Thread

From my understanding the Q45 & the President share the same chassis, suspension, & drivetrain.

Just different front ends and miscellaneous interior/exterior things.

Note: I'm going to add a Q45 -> President Conversion parts list to my original post later. If anyone sees something I don't, or that I forgot, let me know and I'll add it to the list.

We might get lucky and source someone in Japan that can acquire the parts we would need.

The JDM 1989-2002 President was available in both SWB and LWB trim levels. Just like the S-Class, 7-series and Jaguar XJ. The SWB Mercedes S-Class has not been available in the US since its 2000 model year introduction though.

President Hood Ornament Close-up

I have that hood ornament ordered from Japan and went to the body shop to put it on... and guess what? I needed to cut the part of the hood and remove some metal bar under the hood if I wanted to install.... I gave up doing the whole hood job that costs $400 just to put little ornament.BTW LWB or SWB stand for Long wheel based version and short wheel based version, like 745iL or A8L.

What rod are you talking about?

The underside of my hood has braces, but I haven't noticed any rods.

(I'd take a dremel to it if it wouldn't compromise the structural integrity of the hood, but thats me. )

A fair number of Nissan luxury cars look like Jags. There's one that comes to mind that completely mimics the tail and interior of the early 90s XJ.

Well, if you want one, here you go. This company imports to the US. You still have to worry about legalizing it, though. Although maybe that'd be different since it's built on the Q45 chassis?
