I am going to replace my subframe bushings and the only replacements I have found are the nismo which are expensive and the energy suspension oneswhich are scary cheap.

I actually bought the nismo ones already and am considering returning for the energy suspension ones.

I think the nismo are just ment to be oem replacements but the energy suspension say they improve performance.Curious if anyone has any experience with these bushings or advice.

Any input would be great thanks.

You mean rear subframe collars?

All they are is pieces of aluminum. No need to spend that much. I got mine off Ebay for $33.

They will both improve performance on a 15year or so old car. I just received the ES ones with the master kit and they are only inserts (not replacements), but much easier to install than replacements due to not having to drop the subframe.

If you wanna be hard core go for the aluminum ones at the bottom of this page.

There are more out there too, just have to search more.

have you heard anything about them yet. I bet they are a rough ride but tight. I like them and they are much cheaper than the nismo ones.

I actually have not checked mine yet. But I have everything removed from subframe beacuse I am installing a ES master kit and put in a Q45 diff.So I figured this would be a good time since I am rebuilding my whole car and with a bit of power.

I am talking about the complete replacements not collars.

on the topic of collarsdo you have them installed and were there any complications?

If no complications it is nice to know the ones on ebay can be used.

No I haven't. They are solid, meaning no give. I just posted that to say there are more out there. Check our advertisers out. And do a search about specific ones.

That response was to this post of yours

Since you have the ES master kit you know that they are only inserts then. Since you have the subframe out already I think you should opt for actual bushings. I personally wouldn't get the solid aluminum ones because my car is daily driven, but there are poly ones out there.

I'm currently halfway done with putting new Nismo bushings in my s14. I have everything apart and the new bushings installed, but I still have to put it all back together.

Oh yea, if you're wondering on how to take out the stock bushings... I just sucked it up and went to Nissan. They charged me $137.44 for labor on 3 bushings. (I kind of conned Midas out of $30 for the one they did )

All Nissan did was used a "bushing puller" that they use on Altimas. (that's atleast what they told me... but who knows)

I have had both the Energy Suspension ones and the NISMO ones i also tried the Aluminum collars the collars wher just that aluminum inserts they where very harsh you could feel about 70% more road harshness the Energy Suspension insert where okay too with about 60% more road harshness than stock. im Currently running the Nismo ones and they are alot better than stock and feel about 10% more road harshness than stock. IMO i feel the NISMO are the best bet unless your going full race then get the SPL ones.

The ones in the first link are still spacers, and he is using aluminum bushings in the second link...

I think they are just a 2 piece design.

It says he put them in the freezer to shrink them, that wouldn't do any good if they were aluminum.

quick question on the aluminum collar. Do the old bushing have to be remove to fit them on or can you just install them on top of the old bushing?

Nope, those are just like the aluminum collars only in urethane...there is even a slit in the top pieces so that you don't have to drop the subframe. If they were full bushings, there would be no need for this slit.

Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature just like every other material.

I have been looking all over for a full urethane replacement kit and I don't believe anyone makes one. The closest I've found is the Energy kit for the Z32 which needs to be modified a little (so I was told by someone at SPL Parts). The only non-metal full replacements to my knowledge are the Nismo ones, which sucks, because I don't want to pay $150 for rubber bushings.

I'm going to do a full paint and replace on my car under body too.I'm doing all the suspensions, not just the subframe.

What parts will I need? I'm not looking for collars, just full OEM type replacement in poly level hardness. But not aluminum.

E7 - if you want all the suspension bushings for the car get the Energy Suspension Master Kit. I just bought one, its got everything your car needs BUT full replacement bushings for the subframe. I'm going Aluminum for that.

Drunken posting FTL... j/k

Can someone give me a rough install time on the Energy suspension bushings? How about a difficulty rating?

I don't know exactly how long it will take, but if you pull the arms off, burn the old bushing out, and then have a press to put the new one in, Its probably going to be a full day job, starting early and working late.

I just got my kit, and I'll be starting on it in a few weeks after I get my rear multi-link sandblasted. I have access to a hydraulic press so that will make it easier for me, if you don't have one it will probably be hell.

$168 shipped from MyNismo.com is the cheapest place I can find for a set of Nismo bushings. Does anyone know where to find them cheaper?

I have the SPL bushing "spacers" and helped my wheel hop tremendously. There is a write up on the Energy Suspension kit install around somewhere, I remember reading it.
