Most likely they are. When ever there's a big event around they usually jack the prices up.

Perhaps so, but I suspect part of the problem is many "early birds" have already reservred the cheapest rooms leaving only the more expensive rooms/suites available at this point. That might be the case at Hotel Carlisle.

They are welcome to join. It's easist if they become NICOnauts and post on this thread, (after all NICO membership is free) but if you want to just give me their names, email addresses and what they're driving, I'll add them on the list. And perhaps you could hit them up to volunteer for a corner work shift or two.... .

That's great. I'll need to your friend to sign up as a participant in order get access to the paddock/track, even if he doesn't plan to drive. I'll need his name and email address. Also could you please see if he can identify which shifts he'd be interested in working?

Thanks!

Man..I really want to go to this but I can't bring myself to drive that far on my own without even knowing anyone at the event, or getting a hotel room.

I think you should consider coming down for at least a day. Scranton is only maybe 2 hours (?) from Carlisle. And since the event falls on a weekend, you could easily make it a day trip. As a Nissan enthusiast, you already have something in common with just about everyone there. You also might be pleasantly surprised and have fun even if you don't drive the course. There's a lot stuff to see and do at this show.

I don't care what I do or what time it's at, just pick something where I can smoke lots of cigarettes and not piss anyone off with it. I smoke like a chimney when at events like this.

Yo Loki, I have to drive about the same distance, although from the south, and its all good. Just bring some good tunes cause that part of PA is super boring...

The corner workers will be spread far apart, so I'm sure there won't be complaints about 2nd hand smoke. Pick out a couple of times and I'm sure we can accomodate.

Saturday 2:45-4:15 drift with spectators then so I don't have to be there early.

Corner 1, I guess. Which corner is better again?

Yea, when I thought more about it, I could make it down and back in a day. I'd still like to convince one of my friends to go, but I think I might head down and check it out anyway. Anything I need to do to sign up/pay for?

hey not many of us "know" everyone els, i mean iv only met a couple members befor hand but hey, this is nico we all are group of friends. il be "coneing", you should do that.

btw, it wont mater if your smoking because it will smell like exhaust fumes and gas/tires so your chimney problem wont be so noticable.but still quit anyway

I believe you can pay in advance or at the gate.

Drift/autocross participation is free with paid admission to the Carlisle show, but your car has to pass tech, you have to have an approved helmet and be a licensed driver 18 or older. There is also a restriction on convertibles. If you want to use your convertible, it must have a minimum 4 pt. roll bar, and pass the broom stick rule. Also, no SUVs or trucks..

Naaaw, my 240 isn't a racecar. It's just a fun car with pretty good handling. I'd come to Carlisle to see all the cool cars and watch some of the events, but I'd never participate in them with my car.

I'm not sure there is a "best" corner. Some will be closer to the paddock than others. Thanks for volunteering.

I hope everyone who's attending can help out by picking up some slots. We still have a lot spots to fill.

Well Pen-Dot locked the registration on my 240 so. I'm still going in my truck and I'll help out in any way I can with any open positions. mark me down as a backup in case you still have some spots open.

Haha, do it up Sean!

Put me down for corner working 1-4:15 on Saturday! Got nothing better to do. If I can't get the RB started then I'm screwed though and count me out.
