how about a noob forum for ppl like me that ask alot of questions. and the ppl that like to help ppl out can hide out in there along with the noobs. that could work unless ppl start sharing false information causing an even lesser version of a noob

There is a point to post whoring, take your post count and join date compared to mine WC. I've seen another guy on here where he has the same number of posts as me but joined two years later than me.

No offense WC just making a point, not saying you are a post whore.

sure i'd do it!

not but seriously... forum for 1000+ members called the cigar lounge gets my sincerest vote.

there are some smart people here... it could be a good place for more experienced members to learn from each other. I want to get to the next level, and being in 240 gen chat or rwd sr20det doesnt do it for me.

finding you guys all in one place is rare.

If we had a "cigar lounge" forum, then none of the newb's questions would get answered, and this forum would no longer be newb friendly, and our new user average would plummet.

Its all about traffic here people.

Besides, we already have a cigar lounge, its called the mod forum.

"Welcome to post whores anonymous"

We cannot simply allow high post counts to account for intelligence. I know there is a huge difference between a post whore and someone who is there to actually help the poster, but I see a few new members who post up BS just so they get in the classifieds or tell the OP something that they have no clue about. Then every other post or reply is a question that has been answered a thousand times. I try to read every new post in the 240sx gen, 240sx technical, and both ka sections every night before bed, but I hardly ever post because the level of intelligent topics has deteriorated so much. If I had posted replies to every post I've read then I would have a 10,000 post count by now. I've been a member here for almost 3 years now, but only have a post count of just over 200. Lately I have seen a few good build's and some in depth topics in the ka-t section, but beside that it's been junk.

ive suggested this before lol not necessarily to prove that you arent a noob but more so to see if you know how to type correctly or learn to search rather than post asking one of those super repetitive questions--like a tutorial of sorts

ive posted foolishly before, and im only 19 still learning. but honestly i wouldnt know half the things i know now about cars in GENERAL if it werent for NICO and some other online forums! everyone has to start somewhere and that is the hard part to moderate-and as for whoring i will sometimes post on a build with a simple sentence or a couple words to show my support & opinion, not to get my posts up because i dont really care if i have 5 or 5000 posts. its just a #!

you cannot generalize noobs on here by post count or how long theyve been a memeber because an professional nissan mechanic could join and have 10 posts but that does not make him a noob

the idea of a "cigar lounge" is a good one, but it wouldnt work as previously stated because no new questions would be answered...unfortunately!

maybe all noobs should be given a link to some of the better build threads [such as positron, WC, hijacker, and idaho] so they can read through and see not only what different people are doing with their cars but also what people are getting flamed for! this is what i did and im pretty sure i did a good job because i didnt want to join and look like a complete fool

^^ With the build threads being mentioned They should REALLY filter those those. There's soooo many random post in Ben's build page and the others that are like "looking good!" and stuff which make them 50+ pages. It would be good to have their threads filtered out to JUST a build thread. Maybe a NO POST(other then the OP's) build thread kinda like a diary for people.

I like the idea of only the op being able to post to his build if he chooses to.

good point duffman. i didnt think about it like that-goin back n clearing out unneccesary things is a good idea, but if the creator is the only one who can post then what if he has questions? lol he could post in the forum but it also kinda defeats the purpose of a build threadspeaking of a diary-other forums such as some subie sites have an entire area where all the "diary" or "builds" are post in

-> and in idahos build there is a lot of bickering between codyace & WC IIRC but this also lets people decide for themselves what may or may not be correct

it'd be cool to turn off comments in the build threads, as long as its the op's choice. i personally like having comments and getting feedback. sometiems it can get off topic but i personally don't mind

I come for the search button. Nowhere else can I find as much nissan information.

If I can't find it, I'll post my question ( always sure to mention I searched prior to asking ) and I generally get helpful, insightful responses.

The build threads are fun to look at, but even in my "infancy" on his forum I've grown bored of the "builds" that have rims/intake/exhaust and that's it.

Every now and then I'll find interesting threads outside of basic information searchs, but usually I never post unless I have something to contribute, hence my low post count. Flaming/spamming is a waste of time.

I think I finally found out why there is a more then usual amount of noobs lately, they must have watched the trailer for the new Rice and the Furious, and seen there is a 240 in it, so they all wanna hurry up and be just like Vin Diesel.

psht... STFU n00b... -_-

you're just mad because you drive a Honda... and you want another s13... quit whining... you little bish...

hahahaha... jashgjhg

Logan... You little bish, you...

Anyways... Some people steer away from NICO because of the flaming and hazing that occurs... I was one of them at one time... I said f*** this game and went to Zilvia... They were nice(ish)... Of course, that when I was 15 and 16 and got ridiculously mad about haters...

But, even recently, on this new user name, I catch hell for asking questions... And I'm not a "n00b" I've had three s chassis'. Any many, many more cars to boot...

It just seems that some people on NICO have a hard time finding things to do with their worthless existence playing World of Warcraft and "sliding" while endangering people's lives.

Then, you have your know-it-alls... We won't go there... -_-

Also, NICO is the number one place to go to find anything out about any Nissan or Infiniti vehicle. No other resource has helped me as much as NICO has.

And finally, click on the Big Boards button with NICO's rating. There, you can view graphs, charts and other "what not" about NICO user usage. Something like 23,000 unique IP's a day... That's insane... And, in the graphs and pie chart, you can see where the visitors are from, view a daily usage graph, look at a line graph showing yearly usage (as well as a bar graph), and much, much more. Go have a look see...

Maybe that's why NICO has became boring to some people... I still like it though...

P.S.: Logan76 smells like cat litter that sat outside after a rain storm in 130 degree weather. -_-
