I'll admit i don't come here as much as i used to. My own site has really picked up so i spend my forum time there, also on Lookoutdrift & Clubloose.

Also, im sure us old heads are sick of all those retarded threads like, Which is better SR or KA, Whats coilovers are best for drifting, I crashed my car again ect. Its getting that broken record effect & once that happens, people that come here looking for helpful info lose interest and go elsewhere.

Now, im not taking anything away from people like Cracker, sr20goofus & Aceinhole who have a ton of knowledge to share, its just all the ignorance over shadows the good lately.

Now, i know people are going to reply "If you dont like it here, then leave", but really, whats that going to solve?

Greg, please dont take this as a personal attack on you, you know you and I are cool.

December/Jan are always slow. Usually there are more build threads going on though. 'Tis the season.

The truth is so many words.

Ive built up a decent wealth of knowledge over the last few years. I do my best to answer peoples questions, but sometimes I just cant take it.

Questions like these, are a big part of the problem. zer...iming People need to realize that we are not a living textbook. We can answer questions, but its nearly impossible to teach someone the finer points of automotive tuning. People spend years in schools learning these things, and kids today expect us to deliver that knowledge in a few poorly worded phrases.

1.) I built a shift knob

2.) *k*

3.) K 4.) *K*

That's a rough draft, I'm going to round the tip so it flows better.

I feel the same way. There are a select few users that actually have technical knowledge of cars. Most people want to show pics of their rice buckets of stock 240's and feel like they should make a thread for it. I feel the flaming has been getting worse because people who are joining the boards now seem to be really dumb and ask questions when the could easily be answered by a FSM or searching. Also threads such as "Should I get this ****ty part or that ****ty part" are running rampant. People need to grow up, learn up, or shut up.

I would be nowhere near as educated about cars/engines in general without the plethora of knowledge I've absorbed from this site. There's so much legitamate and useful info on here that it completely outweighs the stupid/ignorant threads on here IMO. Yeah it pisses us off when someone posts threads like the timing one Ian stated above, but I can deal with it. Sure it would be nice for all the threads to be good ones but that's just not going to happen in a forum with 114K + members. I think were doing pretty well for as many people as we have here. Sure all the noobs hang out in 240 gen, IMO that's mostly for pictures. The threads with the most info are the 240 tech, KA-T, Hybrids, etc... People answering questions there know what they're talking about and the people posting them in there are actually cappable of learning.

Whatever though, no site is perfect, especially one this big. There's always going to be someone who posts a stupid question or just goes around spamming the forums. All long as there's people like you guys who actually care and take the time to answer our questions I'll always stick around.

I agree with Papa. For those of us that live in winter affected states, we are kind of in hibernation mode. It's hard to really get excited about your car when you can't just go out and drive it. This then leads to not as much activity on the boards. Winter is just gloomy and cold and gets a lot of people not excited about cars in general.

On a side not, I have some sexy new interior additions hopefully coming within a couple months or so. So that should lead to some good pictures and talk.

Newbie "h0w d0 i G3t B00$t3d!?" threads are gonna get flamed, indefinitely. I admit, I just started posting recently and was very wary of posting here when i first started after reading the amount of BS that goes back and forth.... mostly searched A $HIT-TON before asking anything.... Now, I post strictly in thee utmost retarded and worthless threads and use the site for the "Search" functionality to answer my questions.I come back to see whos at whos throats from one thread to another. someone is always on some ones nuts and someone always says "F-U," so Im satisfied.

I think i'll post as one on the younger people on the forums. I have learned ALOT on here, but yes, there is only so much that one can learn from forums. I'll admit I've posted dumb threads, but most people will stray away from doing that as their knowledge grows, like I have. You can't really expect everyone to know everything, and the least you could tell someone is to search. Everybody starts somewhere. I think if people took the time to try and learn it wouldn't be as bad, but those people will learn that its easier to learn by researching than asking and waiting for answers on forums and what not.

As for all the high school kids wanting S-Chassis, idk what started that, or how i even got into 240's. Its not like its a "Fast and The Furious" car..maybe "Need for Speed" lol. Either way, not all high school kids are the typcial "F&F" junkie. Some, like myself, actually have a passion for these things.

^^^ I've noticed ALOT of noob questions for a bit now. It seems to me like its getting worst. Like "what suspension should I get for drifting?!" and stuff. After awhile you just get tired of seeing the same crappy post.

And some people post up threads like "Project Silvia 56K will die" When all it is is someone posting pics of their S chasis.

I don't really spend too much time anymore on nico I've actually started spending waaay more time on zilvia lol not trying to start anything stupid here cause 90% of us are on there anyways.

Nico has changed a lot over the 5 years ive been a member. 5 years ago the most you had to worry about was the cheap "invader" body kits, now there is a plethora of parts out there that are cheap and ugly and people eat it up.

you know what ive alwasy been curious about?

why do some guys have shift knobs that go up to the dome light? well not literally. but close.

just seems odd because you want fast shifts, not a longer stick to slow shift, and it kinda looks gay? i mean not to down on anyone im just not a huge fan of dildo shift knobs.

i probably wont get my question answered now because i pissed someone off hahahahah but its an honest question

NICO is still one of the best Nissan foums I am on (much better than the locals, Zilvia or the few others I have found). But the tech seems to be harder to find. I really don't post as much as I used to, as I am sick of the same old same old. I do spend most of my time in CA specific, and I never go into Gen Chat anymore. SXOC has been taking much more of my time however. And there is always p0rn on teh interwebz.

EDIT: I just noticed that other than Papasmurf and Hitman, I have the longest tenure on this site yet in this thread. I think it is about time you make me a mod Greg. lol

Qft.

I'm pretty much in hibernation mode right now...i would love to work on my 240 and post pics and stuff but.....

1) Snow, ice, and every other s***** weather condition you can think of.

2)It's winter, people don't know how to drive...

I can guarantee if i did any work with my car...somebody will crash into it within the next week or so (i have this kind of bad luck with cars).

So I'm holding off until the weather starts to get better...which wont be until about at the very earliest...2 months from now

Hmm...i still haven't posted pics of my car...gotta do that sometime soon

Edit: Also the amount of information that i found and still yet to find on this site is just amazing, Im sooooo glad i found this site...and it was by accident too

the biggest reason i'm on here is my build thread. even if no one comments on my build, i like posting pics of my progress. i looked back through my thread the other day. i've come a long way

I've decided to be more nice lately.

I think a lot of the "boredom" I see comes from those people who think they are so high and mighty.

I am so tired of seeing a TON of responses like "go search you noob", "ah man, in before the lock" "hey *******, go search", "hey try google."

Searching is cool, but sometimes you just can't find it.

If somebody has a question, I'll answer it.

Maybe I should be more tough again. More of an *******, yeah?

Also, I think it gets boring when everybody wants the same car with the same parts and same style.

im dragging my feet with starting my build, the weather has me down, not daily driving my s13 has me down, and knowing that i have to deal with rust is definitely a large portion to me becoming irritated with the boards. They have become dull lately, but i still catch a good thread now and again.

hopefully its just a phase. i don't mind new members, but the last 2 pages each day are always filled with stupid threads
