Well guys ive long been in love with pretty much all of the 240sx models and untill recently have been unable to get one in decent condition or a half way decent price. Living in Indiana, I see some 240's but they are all high priced stock or complete rust buckets! But i gotta little luck thrown my way and was finally able to purchase a slimly modded 240 Vert. Now the first thing that went throw my mind when I saw this is "who would ever do this to a 240?" The car also had to bad injectors off the bat. But i couldnt resist the no rust unibody, tein coilovers, cat-back (that roasted the rear bumper!!), and intake. So i had the guy take 200 (price of injectors) of the $2000 asking price and bought it. I have many MANY plans for this car and hope that my pocket can help me accomplish my goals! Workin on the DD too!! ....I'll try to keep you guys posted on the car's progress.

Welcome!

I know it's your car and all but if I bought a vert like that, the first thing i'd remove are those stickers (assuming that's not a paintjob), the hood scoop, that gigantic whale tail of a wing, and that trunk scoop...

Anyways, best of luck with it.

WOW! that is quite the paintjob (or stickers hopefully).

I agree with you though.. $1800 is a really nice price on a solid 'vert with some expensive mods done to it. Hopefully you can return it back to stock or close to it.. and then work on it to your own taste from there.

You don't see a lot of pignose 'verts out there.. Perhaps the 3rd I've seen. Actually looks sharp with the lip. I like the wheels as well. Nice score! Welcome to the 'vert forum. Thanks for sharing with us!

Let us know what we can do to help.

Yeha i sure wish that those were stickers but they are paint i did get the bullet holes off (stickers) but all the 100% bull crap and the ridicouls stripes are paint, but before i go driving around town it will be all one color! Wing is already off and hood scoop will be coming off before the hood goes back on... thanks for the support guys, and i think im gonna repaint the VC white now and keep it a pig (unless i can get a sweet deal on a body kit)

I think that might be a MKIV Toyota Supra wing, by the way.

welcome to the forum. please save that vert!

make sure you read the faq and get the basics taken care of - like the upper timing chain guide and the a/t electrical problem

chuki > zenki

i'll trade you a chuki front for your zenki lip? meet halfway?

It's a Supra style wing. Anyway, like everyone said you will have to de-rice that car. It definitely has a potential.

De-ricing is definitely in the works...

I had to replace the timing chain in my Alti already but the 240 doesnt look as hard to do as the damn Alti sidewinder! I took off the upper guide when i had the VC off but the side one has to come off still.

DeXteR- you dont want my lip its pretty beat up! and whats this bout the auto transmission electrical prob?!?!

well, i'm getting pretty desperate for a lip. as long as its still in one piece overall, i'd be interested. i can patch cracks and splits as long as there aren't any large chunks missing.

the auto trannies have a tendency to get "stuck in gear". it's a common problem in the s13, but most prevelent in the verts. they won't shift and if you don't catch it, will rev all the way to redline. it boggled the nico community for almost 2 years. the "solution" was as easy as pulling a plug.

zerothread?id=96505

the link can be found in the faq sticky at the top of the vert forum. you're going to want to spend a couple hours reading throught the faq and the stickies and the linked threads. it's definitely time well spent.

the more i see this car the bigger i need to give you. this car is plain ugly but you really saw the beauty in it.

side not if your going to repaint the engine bay and all that stuff you should paint the whole car while your at it.

Looks like you've come a long way from when you first bought the car! I tip my hat to you as you undergo some serious surgery. Keep up the good work and dont forget to fill us in on what color you plan on using for the rest of the body
