guys, don't be so harsh. let's not forget what this car looked like when he got it... this paint job is just fine to get by until he can save up some cash to get a quality paint job.

any paint job that is only $500 cannot be "real." Simply put, a "real" paint job costs thousands of dollars, and Maaco is just another econo-crap paint shop. The reason their so cheap is cause their materials and methods are cheap, and their employees can't be doing too well either. They may have improved slightly but the fact of the matter is, is his "rattle can" paint looks like what would roll out of one of the econo-crap places minus a little bit of luster due to no clear and possibly not prepping. The paint looks good for what it is, there is no over spray, prevalent running or anything of the sorts.

I commend the guy for taking it upon himself to completely revive this vert from the sad state of affairs it once was in. And further more, doing it 100% himself, and pulling it off! GREAT JOB OTTO!

i got Earl Sheib's "Premier paint service on the vert. it costed $600. that paint job is pure crap! the didnt even sand down the car before they painted it! and they left a huge white spot underneath the side mirror ( the car was painted from white to black). a week after the paintjob the paint started cracking in spots and chipping in others. lesson learned: PAY OVER 600 DOLLARS FOR PAINT! $1500 gets you goood paint. and otto, good freakin job man, it looks billions of time better. that ricer you bought it from is probbably gonna want it back now haha!

thanks guys im in the process of rounding up a turbo kit of some sort, and trying to stay under 1000. Any suggestions? I was thinkin of a t25 set up with just a basic FMU and maybe intercooler of maybe not. hoping to put out about 200whp or so. ive been looking around at some other setups and they seem to get about the same tq numbers as hp untill bout 250-275 whp ish then tq stays low and hp goes up. has anyone else been experiencing this? any feedback would be great thanks

USDM240 & otto_3478s,I sure can join for panda theme too.

otto, can you align front bumper some more? I know. s13 front bumper is really hard to adjust and work with, but it looks like you got more gap than before. Somehow I lke old wheels better if I have to choose between the two. It's brilliant what you did with resovior. That's very cool.

I like the reservoir a lot, too! Really clean looking.

One question, though... don't coolant reservoirs have to be mounted higher than the radiator?

94_240sx ---- yes your right it does look a bit off... i got alot more body work ahead of me and im kinda liking the other wheels aswell, i think im gonna go put them on.

ishkabibble ----- No they dont have to be mounted higher because they will still draw in coolant after the thermo spring retracts on the rad cap when the car is cooling down

krash14 ----- HAHA yea i decided i just couldnt part with it... and im still not sure about a turbo kinda liking the sound of 4 more cylinders..... and i have been thinkin about all black too.

Oh and here are some photos from this past weekend out at the local Auto-X event
