i think you can grab power from the cig lighter thats located on the dash...johnny_d wrote:i've been wanting to get LEDs into the cup holders in the back but not sure where I could get power from
I completely cut off the action box and threw it away! SO I only have the four LED tubes and the wires that go with them. From there, I simply used a 12 volt car alarm remote sized battery (has to be 12 volts) and tested the wires to figure out which ones corresponded to positive and negative. I then wired all the positives together, and wired all the negatives together, and connected them to the appropriate lead on the toggle switch.itsjustbusiness wrote:Doc!
I just installed the LED's in the footwells and went for a drive. There's some rattling noise. I'm guessing it's the box that the LED's come with in the beginning (I connected it to a switch instead like you). Where/ how did you mount the action box
cheers!
nice work thererjdmmfl1 wrote:

Again, if you do it this way, you don't need the little power box that comes with them, and you can trash it!
However, be careful because the individual wires are EXTREMELY small and delicate. ***If you look at the wire coming off the LED tibe, it looks like a thick black wire... but actually, that's just a thick protective sheath, there are 4 individual wires inside this black sheath! Those are the individual wires I was speaking of!
that's quite a jump there Eduardo, sombody's come into some cheddar huh?? lol... I feel ya, there are still a few brand new 2007 G35's out there, for about the same price (or less) than a fully equipped A/C 3.5edonissan13 wrote:

I guess you mean the 08 G35 Sedan, right? Also, whomever that was that installed your alarm system jacked it up!edonissan13 wrote:I like the 08's im having a lot of issues with the car latelyremember that beeping sound when i would start the car?It is worst!!! ill video tape it tomorrow and post it up !
when they arrive, please give me a call... there's an easy way to do this regarding where you are doing your install...LongBeachCoupe wrote:Just ordered mine... im going to mount the switch next to the trunk pop.... and i also picked up some waterproof (for those big gulps with condensation) leds for the cupholders.... im so excited to attempt this install myself! My first write-up maybe... or maybe ill just post a thread saying "help" and you will find a picture that looks like when dr feelgood took out his radio lol... we will see!
Dude, can you tell us what the easy way is?rjdmmfl1 wrote:

i would def match the color of your interior LED's... all that blue and red on the inside will look like a blood/crip convention...lolItalianbulldog85 wrote:AH! im torn between matching my paint (blue) or the interior lights (red). decisions... decisions... looks like a fairly simple install though.
well, the easy way is to hook the power wire to one of the fuses inside your fuse box, but it must be a fuse that says ACC, not "BAT" on the diagram.kuhan wrote:

There is no existing wire there... it may be helpful to run the power/ground wires as I have it on the diagram above, then send a set underneath the center console area, split it in two direction, underneath the seats, send one pair to the passenger side door, send another pair to the drivers side door, and then run then underneath the plastic kick plates, in between the rear quarter panels, and they will be right there near the cup holders! If you wrap everything cleanly in black electrical tape, the few times they are visible, it will just look like stock wires for the seats or something.LongBeachCoupe wrote:Thx for the help dr... Where im gonna need the real help is figuring out how to get under the damn cupholders and find a wire
slc-4 is the hi lo converter used during the install of my Avic.. as per my how to page... the grey thing is the storage box underneath the Avic unit... and the rectangle is the center consolse areaLongBeachCoupe wrote:dr.. i meant the front cupholders... no one sits in the back lol... I am going to need to get into that flip open console and under it... any ideas?I dont understand your schematic though... whats the thing thats shaped like a sub in gray? whats the slc-4? i guess they must be parts of the avic install....
dude, i didn't find an easy way to get the footwell lights to go on with interior lights. I looked at the electrical schematic of how the wires are running in my sedan. I spent many hours thinking about where I can tap into. There is no easy way I can do it, so I just did with a switch to turn on and off.LongBeachCoupe wrote: i would like them to go on with the interior lights, and fade like they do... with the switch to put them back on when i feel like it... is it much more complicated than just the switch install?
If you want it to come on with your interior lights, you could just splice it to the wire leaving the body control module for the door courtesy lights... or...LongBeachCoupe wrote:Ok so im ready to attack this tonight... atleast for a little (im kinda sick)....
i am going to wire all my interior lighting to 1 switch.. right next to the trunk pop... i would like them to go on with the interior lights, and fade like they do... with the switch to put them back on when i feel like it... is it much more complicated than just the switch install?
