hows the inside of the muffler design on the dual tip? does it split in two before the muffler and then go straight through?

also is it possible to just get axle-back on the dual tip? because i got a high flow 3 inch cat and 3 inch SS exhaust that came with the car but i suppose the design might be different than BRM (unless you guys ran it along the same line)

heres a pic of the underside i took when i was getting tires balanced:

Dual-tip is split inside.

Our rear section will probably not bolt up smoothly to that front section. Not definite, but it's not worth taking a chance.

Greg, I've read the last three or four pages of this thread and can't find the info I'm looking for so I guess I'll just ask: Is it possible to get a SS 2.5 with a 22" resonator and a single tip? Approximately how much if so? You may have answered this a million times already but will a 3" be too loud with 22" resonator on an NA?

Can do.

Although the 22" resonator won't be SS, and will eventually corrode, it can be done.

Should be a real nice sound, esp with the larger resonator.

Hahaha, no chance.

If you guys knew how little profit there was in these, you'd think I was stupid for wasting my time.

I don't blame you....I've been doing some research and there are other exhaust systems that might be kick *** but they don't offer kick *** resonators, different metal, diameter or tips like BRM for under 600 clams. In a nutshell...they are a bargain for what you can get with BRM. Also, they aren't mass produced. I wouldn't expect any drop in price.

I've got a 3" one from BRM with the big resonator and dual-tip, I also have a header. It's loud, but not in a angry flatulence kind of way. It basically sounds like a truck with an aftermarket exhaust system.

I ordered mine Tuesday. 2.5" piping with 14" resonator (ss) for my 97 240

I've watched the videos posted in this thread and I absolutely cannot wait to get it and get it installed... especially since I happen to live where Civic bumble-bee/lawnmowers drive around a lot

No louder than anything else on the market - Actually, i can't think of ANY straight-thru systems (without silencers) that are quieter.

2.5 wouldn't make sense, you want the extra diameter with a turbo.

People hit 300whp with 2.5" exhausts all the time, its just the 3" will let the turbo spool up faster.

If I recall, the Apexi Dual thingy is a bit quieter, but it has 2 mufflers after all, and looks like poo.

Ordered my exhaust just a few days ago, for you guys who are curious how it sounds on a SR20det, I'll record some videos when it's installed. It's 3" with 22" resonator, dual tip.

Just got the exhaust today, VERY EASY install. i mean EASY. Although the cat-back pipe's hanger has nowhere to hang, the exhaust tip/cat gives it enough support. Granted I'm using a cat. and a 22" resonator, it's super quiet. I mean quiet. Probably by this weekend i'll get my friend's camera and post some videos of idle, and some *** hauling. Defently a small boost of power. Took a whole, 4/5 business days (not sure if UPS considers Sat an open day) to get to my house. Can't forget it looks sexy hanging off the rear of my car. Reminds me a lot of the R32(VW) tips.

ok so I think my friend MATT is heavy1metal.

here's the clip and pics.

Ok here are the pics. Storm and all I still take shots. Dark as hells backdoor and I still make videos.

The dual tip's are larger than I thought. Heck, even 1 of those tips could pass for a single tip system. But I'm still glad i went with the 4" single.

Didn't know he posted here so I made a new thread zerothread?id=128213

Wicked!I'm just getting a price from in town first just to see if it's worth while to get it done locally before...

But this system looks badass

So it's still 430 for the stainless piping, 70 for the resonator, and 135 for the cat? in US prices of course...

Greg...

I've got a '93 240SX 'vert. The guys down at the shop I go to say that my resonator is broken and that I've got a bunch of exhaust sections that are loosening. They want to replace it with a one-piece Cat Back from the catalytic converter back.

Will your exhaust product fit the bill? "cause they wanna charge me quite a bit of money for this job and I figure I could buy the BRM and install it myself for less than they're gonna charge.

What would you recommend for a system in terms of diameter, resonator, dual pipes?

This setup is right up your alley, waterdog.

My personal preference for a KA with bolt-ons, or one that MIGHT see some boost later on?

2.5" SS or aluminized, with 22" resonator and dual tips.

Our best-seller, and STILL better than anything else on the market in terms of power and sound for the money.

There is 0 power or torque loss with a 3" system on a KA. There are dyno proofs of it. I've posted them before.

if you can afford the resonator to keep it from gettin too loud, that`s the only downside to a 3 inch setup on an NA KA and you`ll definitely want the extra half inch later, rather than buying another exhaust when you install all the turbo stuff.
