Can you give me suggestions on a good audio setup? I have a 1997 kouki and wanna replace everything. Can you suggest hu, speakers, and possibly an amp. I want really good sound without the sub and i wanna keep the project under 1200. Thanks.

My dad got the faceplate off of a 9887 stolen X-mas eve. I was wondering if it was possible to just buy the faceplate? Or maybe put the faceplate of another similar model on there since he thinks 9887 is discontinued. The muther freakers stole his faceplate and his 4 year old iPod nano that only hold 4GB.

Just giving you a heads up that Alpine is closed down from Christmas till the new year. So I will have to wait till next week before I can find out if they still have any 9887 face plates around. Unfortunately, it's usually pretty expensive to buy just the face.

Sorry man, I thought you had sent me an email also, and that I had replied to it.

For speakers I would recommend Hybrid Audio Clarus for the fronts and Hybrid Audio Imagine series for the rear. The Imagine series will be available sometime in January. I would obviously recommend an Alpine unit for the head unit. Then either a JL or Alpine for the amplifier. The Hybrid Audio speakers will give you the most mid-bass response out of any speaker out there. Also, the more power you put to them the merrier. I would recommend a 4 x 150 watt amplifier. There are a couple good candidates to choose from. The Alpine PDX 4.150 or the JL Audio HD600/4. Most of the new car audio product comes out between January and March. So you may want to wait and get the latest stuff. The Hybrid Clarus will remain the same.... and the Imagine series IS a new product. There will be a re-design for the PDX series amplifiers around February or so. Shoot me an email if you want to discuss it more and for price quotes on specific product.

Thanks,

Toby

Would you recommend the Hybrid Audio speakers to be used with the Alpine CDE-102 and Alpine KTP-445 amp? Or would it be better to just buy some cheaper speakers for that head unit and amp combo?

Is it the same cost as new unit replaced one? He really likes the imprint sound technology thing on the 9887, maybe I will have him shop for a new unit he likes and then I will get back to you to see if you have any in stock. thanks

Regarding the KCE-400BT, is it okay to mount it on top of the HU witht the velcro? I hope you say yes, because I already wired up the blue tooth harness to the radio harness

That's not good..... that could start a fire, as it may trap most of the heat inside the radio.

..........I'm just F'n with ya. Yeah, you're good to go

One more question. Is there any other HU besides Alpine that has the blue tooth, HD/Satellite radio already integrated in them? Instead of buying separate components? Or are all of them just blue tooth/HD/satellite radio "ready"? Thanks again.

Actually, Alpine is now shipping the new CDE-103BT. It is the only single DIN Alpine with Bluetooth built in. None of them have HD radio built in...... I'm not sure on other brands. There is just not enough HD radio demand to have a head unit with it built in...... it wouldn't sell very well.

I will be starting a new thread for the new 2010 models once I actually receive them. They will start coming in within the next week or two.

The CDE-103BT is $209 shipped. I'm just starting to get the new units in...... so I will be making a new thread for the 2010 and current head units. Unless your radio now has a black plug, then it will not be the same as the 103BT.

Let me know if you need a 103.

Sounds good, I will wait to see the new stuff before deciding. You have great prices and great service it seems so I am sure I will be getting something from you soon.
