well its not like it sacrifices structural integrity and its the typical route for intercooler piping on our cars. the reason i ran mine like that is because i no longer have a clutch fan or a fan shroud since i have the electric fan. so it was haggard with the intake running across the radiator all ziptied up there like.

so everyone. i need advice. my turbo is blown. so vote on these. please?

-rebuild the t25 (cheaper and stuff)

-t28 (bolts right up, more expensive)

-t3/t4 (would need to weld a new flange on manifold, expensive)

My plans for the near future are fmic, boost controller, and obviously something in the turbo department. some new tires and maybe brakes would be nice too.

Funny thing, i was just thinking about taking out my Clutch fan the other day.

Duke, just find a new t25 and then spend the other money either on some brakes or a FMIC.

Brakes FTW!!!!!!

What good is being able to go fast if you can't stop to make the turn. Stock 240 brakes suck sweaty hairy monkey balls, 3 hard stops from 80 and the pedal turns into mush.

or even worse try to stop a turbo car from about 100 with stock brakes and then you will get up close and personal with the car in front of you!

What do you guys think of this

http://www.carolinanissans.com...21209

I think I am going to get it, maybe this weekend but then I have to figure out to get it down here.

I figure I would drop an SR in it in about a month or two with probably no upgrades till I can afford, but to get the car running would be great first.

One more edit for this post do you guys know of any place to get a reliable engine from because I was looking at heavythrottle.com and I would love to go with them but you need to buy that kit too and I really don't have the money for that right now.

i would go ahead and run some seafoam in your oil you have now (half a can), then do the other half in your brake booster to clean your intake manifold etc. or put the rest in a tank of gas to clean injectors etc. just make sure you change your oil right after you run it hard for like 20 mins or whatever. i use castrol 10w-30 full synthetic - 4 quarts, and right now i have a k&n oil filter on there - it has a handy nut on the end of it for removing it. im using that just because my brother works at advance and i get like 20% off. but i use to use mobil 1 filters, i guess anything other than fram would be good, just heard bad things about those.

whew, oh yeah! definitely noob stuff, dude. It's ok though it's your first car right? It's been a while, but I think it's like 4.5 quarts, don't see why a fram oil filter wouldn't do, and I have no idea on a brand of oil. Just make sure it has that seal of approval on the front. I think I'm running mobil 1 in mine at the moment.

I don't change my own oil any more, I can't stand it, besides its so cheap and quick to get it done.

Jordan- Love those pics, and love what you've done with my motor!!!

whats the difference between 5w30 and 10w30my bro in-law used 10w30 dino oil in my car a long time ago..then i switched back to 5w30And another question.. i can get Seafoam from the autopartstore right?it wont mess up my injectors right?

10w30 is supposed to be better for summer and 5w30 for winter because the oil will circulate better when its cold. something like that. and yeah you can get seafoam at any auto parts store im sure. it should clean your injectors just like fuel injector cleaner when you put it in your gas, it should just work better i guess. i think i am gonna seafoam my car again tomorrow, just in the gas and the brake booster though.

thanks james, need to start taking some more pictures so i can whore it up more often . she has come a long way and so far she has been the heart of a champion, and trust me i beat the hell out of her hopefully we will have some more parts this weekend so i can take some pics of the progress. my buddies car is gonna be a whole different animal when it leaves my garage

well the brake booster is the big round black thing on the firewall hooked up to a vacuum line. you use that vacuum line to suck the seafoam into the intake. when you suck some in there the car will want to die so you have to use the throttle and keep it going. you use about a half a bottle in that and a half a bottle in the oil. but no, you cant do them all at the same time. i would do the brake booster first and then do it in the oil. when you do it in the oil you just pour it in there and i was told you are supposed to run your car hard for about 15-20 mins or so and then change the oil. its gonna smoke a lot but thats normal just so you know. and i think you are really supposed to put a whole bottle in a full tank of gas when you do it in there.

nono, theres a big vacuum line going into the brake booster itself, has nothing to do with the brake fluid resevoir. if you follow the big black hose from the brake booster you will see where it goes into the intake manifold.

SCS13 how much did you say you could do a SR swap for because thanks to a few people my dreams of having a 240 might be coming true soon and I need the SR put in. Also would you be able to put in a Turbo Timer for me too while you were at it?

Well if so then i'd like to help out. Need to have some experience before i leave for Switzerland and im all by myself to do these things.

Anyways, Jordan, we need to get together and work on my motor. I'd like to see what you did with getting rid of the carbon canister and what not.

Its not doing anything. Idling fine just getting ****ty gas mileage because of that hardline leak. Put in 11 gallons the other day and got 207 miles out of it = 18mpg...not exactly what i have in mind with a near stock 240.
