Dude you were the first one to get pissed off here so who got their panties in a wad? Also how is the above statement not disrespectful? I honestly don't care about the phrase you are so upset about, I know there are people who misrepresent themselves and I don't let it bother me. Differing views don't bother me either, however you were the first to attack mine, when I was only offering advice. I'm simply defending myself. Sorry if you don't like my terminology. I don't necessarily like the word tuner but I don't care if you use it. This is the first time on NC SC chat that I know of that there has been a situation like this. We do have open minds here and we all support each other and help each other. Before you started making your asenine comments, we were trying to help you out with finding a place to do your swap were we not? We'll try to help you out the best we can but if all you're going to do is comment negatively then maybe you shouldn't post on here. I hope you choose to change your attitude though because you're the one who is going to miss out. You've made good posts in the past but I won't miss this conversation one bit.

ehh there's always room for post whoring. Whew that was unpleasant! Well, in other news, here's a pic of my black hatch (240 #3) as it sits now.I'll post pics as I get more done, so far since I brought it back from Turstin's all I've done is interior stuff.

yeah I can imagine, kouki lust will do that to you. Sorry no one bought your car. If there's ever anything I can do to help just let me know. I blindly got myself through my SR swap with help from friends, so I may be able to help you trouble shoot and stuff. THere are others in here who've done more and can probably help more. Guess I had some steem to blow off too, I have a 2 year old girl, a 3 month old baby boy, and a 15 month old foster daughter (my niece) to raise and believe me that will get you ready to explode. Especially when the foster child comes with her own set of psychological problems.

damn I wish I could. I really wanted to help get the coupe running, but it looks as though I'm stuck at the house all day saturday painting. If we get through early and can get a babysitter for my little army of yard apes then maybe we can come up in the evening. Sunday I'm devoting all my time to helping turn Brandon's coupe from a busted turd into something useable.

I still want the tenzo's, if you can't wait til next time I come up, just come down one day and get a set of these SE's. Did you want the bfg set or the other ones? Let me know before you do because I need to plug one of the tires, whether it goes on your car or mine. Don't worry about bringing the other wheels down, they are going on your old hatch, so they are right where I need them. I want to see the hotpipe, and let me get a new o2 sensor and scrounge up some money (I'm still broke) and I'll get the safc from you.

I feel like I owe it to Turstin to help him out a little bit, but I'm sure this is not the last thing he'll need help with especially after his new project arrives.

Dan... is that cygnus x1? That's a pretty sweet ride. If that is the one you are talking about I like that car a lot from what I can see. What did you think of the progress I've made on your old car?

You should come down and hang out when you get some wheels.

That is your brake light switch located at the pedal. Mine on the S14 is a pain in the ***. There's a way to adjust it, 2 nuts, one at the bottom one at the top, and that moves it closer or further from the brake pedal. You need to adjust it closer to the pedal, so that when the pedal is not pressed it holds the button in.

I think I finally nipped it in the bud on mine the other night, I tried to get a wrench on it and couldn't, so I just took a rod and a hammer and beat the metal plate in so that it would push the whole assembly down. Took 2 seconds and so far has been effective.

cool man i'll do that. i also have another question, should i wait to convert the car to a 5 speed and do it the same time as the swap or do it now? i feel like im driving an old persons car because of that auto transmission and it drives me crazy. to be honest i hardly drive it because i cant stand driving a car with an automatic. i think i shouldnt have traded my 89 probe gt for it and held out for a 5 speed 240 so i would at least enjoy driving it.

from what I understand its easier with a 240 to do it with the engine and transmission at the same time rather than just trying to swap out your transmission.

Does your swap not come with a 5speed?

that's only like 4 months, so I don't guess I would do a 5 speed swap. You should work out getting your parts together for it (clutch pedal, hard line, master and slave)between now and then. The shop you choose to get the swap done may have the parts, or you can get them on NICO classifieds or a junkyard. Or my personal favorite: parts cars you can get for the cost of a 5 speed swap but that have way more crap you can use or sell.

If you think it might be a year or so before you get the SR, then by all means buy the parts and do the 5 speed swap. I did mine that way, of course it was not running at all, but it was well worth it to put a KA with a 5 speed out of a wrecked parts car I got for $400 so that I could drive the car for a year and a half before I put the SR in. Helped me keep interest in the project when it was something I could get in and drive also. Also made more than $400 on extra parts off of that parts car in the meantime, then sold the original fire damaged motor and auto transmission from my car for $100, and the new motor and 5 speed transmission I sold for $350 and probably could have gotten more if I didn't sell it to a friend.

Kind of rambled there, but bottom line it's a question of timing.

Well then you have a conudrum. You will have to have the 5speed parts installed regardless. Its just a question of do you want to do it now or later... If I were in your shoes I would wait and do it when you do the swap simply because its much easier and cheaper to do everything at once if you can.

I didn't read up so I don't know if your planning to do things yourself or have someone do it but it really comes down to this. If you swap to a 5 speed now you'll be paying labor to do the same job twice. If it is worth it to you to pay that then go for it but if it is not then wait. Simple as that.

oh yeah, that burnt motor that was originally in my car is now in scs13's car, running well, and his brother got the one from the parts car, so that's like 3 cars that have shared motors. If you were to do a family tree of cars from this forum based on us selling and giving parts to each other, then there would be like 30 cars that are all related in some way or another

Well, we knew that motor might only be a temporary motor to get you by for a while. May be time to look for another motorset if you can't get that one to work right. But if you're giving it a once over, taking off all the bs stuff you don't need, then I don't know what else should give you problems. Everything but the block came from your original motor right? The transmission thing I couldn't tell you, maybe you have a bad master or slave or need to bleed the hell out of it.

hmm, vaccuum leak... would a blown head gasket or valve cover gasket cause that? (assuming all the easy fixes have been looked at)

the motor runs stong just idles like crap. it might be something to do with the IACV, ive already replaced the CTS and TPS. i cant think of anything else that would cause it. im gonna seal the hell out of everything and check through everything on my manifold. also i have already replaced the master and slave cyl a few months ago. i couldnt get it to bleed properly and i still dont have much pressure. that might be part of it and it might be in my pedal adjustment idk. hopefully i will get that **** fixed and be able to drive my car like i use to again.

It runs a lot better, pulls strong and no smoke, but it still makes a lot of racket. Probably going to pull the valve cover and front cover off and look at the timing chain guides. I'm going to get the car painted, but I just picked up an entire black s13 front end for $75 so I'm tempted to change out the hood and fenders again. Going to change out the struts too. I removed the carpet and pressure washed it, but that didn't do much good. It now has a full interior thanks to Turstin's old car, but it hasa leak somewhere so the carpet gets wet when it rains, did you ever notice where that was coming from? Also need to find a radio bracket so I can put a CD player in it.

not finding too many radio brackets on ebay. I was going to try the universal kits at wal mart to see if they worked. I used one on my x-girlfriends 86 maxima and it worked, but I had to rig it (they make nothing for that car whatsoever).

As far as the fenders go, I haven't juggled where the fenders I have are going to go, but I'll let you know if I end up with any left over.
