Please see above. I'm all for sr's and the folks that have them, but I honestly don't believe that I'll get one before my RB project is underway--well underway. I'm sooo focused on that first and unless I get a truck or other vehicle, that's pretty much the only thing I'll be working on aside from my house. SR's run for around $2000 average and rb's are in the neighborhood of $3500. Granted there are more things needed to get the rb running vs. the sr, but baseline for baseline the prices aren't too far from one another. It's helps a lot to not have a car payment and really cheap insurance; I can stash some bucks without taking food off the table.

so guiedo, what does alicia want with your hatch? just curious... Also, did you see my post earlier about the guy who should be selling a KA soon?

Bryton, I wish you luck with your project, my whole point is don't throw pearls to pigs (not a good analogy considering your car is a pignose). I'm referring to that KA24E that's sitting in your engine bay. I hope your motor runs good as long as you need it to with just regular maintenence, and if that happens you have nothing to worry about. But if it doesn't, then you should realize that sohc's are not worth much. That's why I suggested an SR or a KADE, because once you are done with them you can remove them and sell them for what you have in them in most cases. dropping $350 for a healthy KA24de seems a lot better in my eyes than $100 here and there, then sooner or later you've got $700 in a motor thats still crap. Odds are you'll be able to keep it running for just pennies, but keep that in mind if things start to get hairy.

Maybe I'm just biased because I own a hatch with a sohc, and I don't think a whole lot of that motor.

I just pulled the doors and fenders off of her car this morning. Got the doors for brandon's coupe so he can roll windows up and down and lock the doors. Not a bad upgrade for the price, considering the power windows the car was originally equipped with probably will never work again and we had no keys until now. It'd be nice to come up with something for the sunroof but that's not as important.

the fenders are for my hatch, the right one is perfect and the left one looks good from 15 feet away, unless I can straighen it out pretty easy I'll be happy with that considering the price. Now I can put my hatch together and get it to the paint shop. All I need is to get some headlights from autozone or something and try to get the motor to quit knocking.

Ok now I see your point more clearly. I too hope that the motor will last long enough with basic maintenance. If not though I will just put a dohc ka in as a replacement to get me over to RB-hood.

The atlanta one is always at the world congress center in Atlanta, about an hour south of my house which is about an hour to an hour and a half south of all of yours. dates are march 10-18 2007.

for more info:http://ajcautoshow.com/

I don't know about the one in greenville.

The atlanta autoshow is always larger than the one here in Greenville. I'd like to go to them both but I'll have to see whats going on at the time. The Atlanta one has more concept cars and such. Some of the manufacturers weren't even at the greenville show last year.

I'll be going to the greenville one regardless since its right here and only 8 bucks admission.

Yeah, speaking of 240sx clubs, I remember seeing a thread a while back about an Upstate 240SX club. Let me dig up that old thread...ahh, found it...

zerothread?id=134573

What ever happened with that? Any GSP 240SX clubs currently active and meeting? If not, are there any nights when people get together for cruising/meets?

I just recently visited the Upstate Z Car Club at one of their monthly meetings...good times.

Well, in this forum we've kicked the idea around amongst ourselves and came up with a name for the most part(Southern Chaos) and we have also had a meeting, albeit the attendance wasn't as high as we had hoped. Being that we're all scattered between 3 states makes it difficult to organize things. We are always looking for suggestions and we had agreed that we would try to meet quarterly. I think the Atlanta Car show would be a GR8 time for all of us to get together, by the same token it would also satisfy our time frame of quaterly meetings. I'm in for Atl!! I may be inclined to go to the one in G-vegas too if I can make it.

When is the one for ATL?

James i also have a few questions about your S14 SR build. I have come up with what seems to me as my best bet. I plan to Part out my hatch and then with that money and a bit more, buy a nice clean shell and either swap a CA into it or a SR, depending on how much i have to spend. Right now im pretty close to being able to afford a CA.

Charlotte is doable for me to, just give me some heads up so I can plan accordingly. School starts back on Jan 10 so I'll have to do some coordination.
