haha thanks its fixed now... about the doors- they're manualCygnus_X_1 wrote:g/l w/ the sale...posted in there for the doors. you might want to fix your sig link since it points to your edit page for that post.
didnt even see this...i would need the power lock assemblies, window regulators, motors, track, and the harness out of the door with enough wire to feed it, and extend it to power. dont need the mirrors, but it would be a nice touch.maxima278 wrote:I think Brandon's coupe out back still has all the stuff for power windows. We were wanting to put manual windows in it anyway.
That car is mostly in pieces, so you'd have to tell me exactly everything you'd need.
not sure what all it has, we're getting alisha's doors, so you can take the whole things if you want, after we get them. i know the door panels are there but don't know what shape theyre in, wiring is there, tracks are there, I'll try to find out if anything is missing that way you know what else to track down or if you're still interested.Cygnus_X_1 wrote:

with the holidays upon us, im sure no one has much free time (i sure dont w/ 4 kids & wife, plus family coming in from new york and florida...) so i am in no rush for this stuff, just trying to line it up for the new year
hey man, not sure if you'll get that much with it not running, I say bite the bullet and put an SR on your credit card. A good chassis is a good chassis and is always worth fixing.gr8bryt wrote:ok peeps, I'm throwing this out so tell me wuz up.zerothread?id=215892
I suppose I agree w/ you about the chassis comment. I (un)fortunately don't use credit cards based on my impulsive tendancies, but if I did opt to just keep the chassis and wait for a new motor you which one it would be... Honestly, I don't see that as an impulsive tendency. Millions of people finance cars every day, even I put my motor on a credit card. It was hardly impulsive, but rather, planned and long awaited. Also, I know you prefer the RB, as do I, very much so, but honestly can you afford it? I can't, at least not now. But if you sell that car, you will probably settle for less than $1000 selling price, or you might possibly spend $1000 trying to get the tired old ka24e in reasonable running condition again. If you sell it, odds are you will have to finance whatever econobox you end up with. Unless you get lucky and find out its something minor without spending a lot of money, then wouldn't my idea begin to sound pretty good after hearing the other alternatives? It does not mean you have to forgo the RB forever, I still fully plan on swapping one in my S14 at some point, but in the mean time, I'm going to thrash that SR. But your car will be running again, and be a lot of fun to drive for the next few years. Then when you're in a better financial position you can rip that SR out and sell it for pretty close to what you paid for it, or keep it like it is and just build up a new chassis with an RB. We all have big dreams, I just want to see more of us living them now instead of waiting so long they lose interest or worse yet, outgrow the desire.gr8bryt wrote:

I've found a mobile mechanic that will look @ it for me for $25. I figured that I'll spend @ least that by replacing parts here and there to get the unknown issue resolved(worse) whichever comes first. I guess if he can give me some direction of specifics, that will give me a better idea of what I'm in for. Its been raining so I doubt he'll be able to see me this weekend, but maybe after Christmas. I just wanna get my car back on the road before school starts back again in January.
sounds good..keep me posted so i can start thinking about what i will need.maxima278 wrote:

who's brandon? anyway, hopefully he you won't have to do that. But if it cost more than a couple hundred dollars to fix that motor, then for $350-$500 it would make sense, since a DE does seem to be a much more reliable motor from what I've seen. But then you're right back where you started, might as well get an SR for $1800, keep it for a few years, then sell it for the same money to get the RB. I'm hoping you won't have to do any of that though. Just be weary of where you draw the line on spending money on a KA24EBlack on Gold wrote:Hey, its Brandon. That sucks! Not going to cut into your wheel budget I hope...Redemption1978 wrote:I am never ever ever ever ever ever ever allowing crapacino in my car again. If only things were so easy. Apparently some of it got in behind the face on my CD player and ruined it.
I'm on crutchfield looking for another one but I'm sooooo ticked off about it.
Anyway I hope everyone else is doing okie!

Well I've got GR8 news everyone. I finally got my ducks in a row and followed some of your suggestions. I bought a 5-gal gas can, $5 worth of gas, Lucas fuel cleaner, and some Sta-bil fuel additive. I mixed it all together and PRESTO...my car started today!! I was even able to drive it around my neighborhood closer to where I actually live..LOL I'm gonna head over to Wal-Mart to pick up an assorted terminal set so that I clean up that maf connector a bit, right now I'm using electrical tape. I figure once I'll venture out of the nest a little more until I'm comfy enough to drive it around town again. Hey, it looks like I may be able to have my car back for the new semester after all!maxima278 wrote:anyway, hopefully he you won't have to do that.
