is that the flip change color like on Okubo's drift skyline? (the bfgoodrich car, beatupsx's photos from a few pages back from formula d). Well, I'd have to see the finished product. Anything can look ricey or clean depending on the execution.

well guys I'll be back in a week I'm going to Fripp Island SC on vacation! If I still have internet access by some miracle I will be on here as much as possible but if not, talk to you soon!

Nah, I don't care for color changing paint too much; it's actually purple. If you go to http://www.nissanusa.com and build a 350z, there's a color called Interlagos Fire which is similar to a plum. The lighter shade is just what ever its called to look like that..lol. I agree that anything can look nice or depending on execution. I'm trying to put it all together in a powerpoint presentation, so far with about 27 slides. I'm doing my research and asking questions to get more info when I'm . This is definely going to be a long term project for me, but I plan to have a map so that I can be as efficient and effective as possible in my execution. Enough about me Have a GR8 time on your trip James, we'll be happy to have you visit us here in South Cackolac for a few. Be safe and we hope to hear from you soon man!

How is everyone elses extended weekend going so far? I have to work today (Monday) but there isn't anything going on so I'm basically getting paid to sit here. It's boring, but I don't mind.

That's sweet man, congrats; if all the tires have as much life as that one does, you should be able to enjoy the added grip that the Azenis offers.

geez, the party stops as soon as i get back. my internet has been out for over a week so i havent been able to get on. anyways, my brother bought an s13 last week, a black 91 coupe auto. but on the way home a hose bust and it overheated. the gauge showed normal so he just drove it home. ran the radiator dry, burnt up the spark plug wires onto the spark plugs. he drove up the drive way and i was excited until i saw smoke pouring out of it. so we found out what hose burst (split about 2 inches), and of course it was the hardest hose to get to way down in the intake manifold. but i took a few hours and fixed that, changed the plugs and wires and it still overheated. so now it is at the shop where he works and they think it is a blown head gasket . pretty damn dissapointing for me after all the trouble i went through to try and make sure it was a good car. plus the same damn thing happened to me the day i bought my car, except i spun a bearing. at least he only played 950 for it and i paid 3200 for mine.

on a good note, my car is alive. i started it up last night and it runs like a champ. still a few things i gotta fix but it is looking good as of right now. so thank you james! please let me know whenever you need help with your sr swap, i owe you a lot and i would like to help you if you need it.

Congrats on getting your SR up and running! You're one step closer to completing your project! That really sucks about what happened to your brother's 240...just when you think its all good with your new car, something goes wrong. It seems like Murphy's Law has a way of rearing its ugly head whenever it can. Why couldn't that have happened before you bought the car? I'm dealing with something like that on my car too. The car has been running good since I bought it, but last weekend I had my first problem. I'm hoping that the battery just needs to be replaced, but if not then it's probably the alternator. I've gotta find some time to take them out to get them tested.

Hello everyone- I am new to "NICO Club" and I live in SC and was wondering when and where you guys are planning to have the next NICO meet. I have a 92 Nissan 300ZX that was originally a N/A Automatic but is currently in close progress to becoming a "Hybrid Beast".....hopefully. I am swapping in a 2001 LS1 with the T56 6speed transmission. I beleive that there are only 3 or 4 recognized Zs with this swap at the time. But I plan on getting into the meets and gatherings like I have seen that you guys usually have a pretty big turn-out at NOPI Atlanta and I will be there this year so Maybe I will get to meet some of you.

funny how anything for a 350z looks way cooler on a 240 so what's going on with your battery.

that is f##kin awesome man! Great to hear it, have you driven it around yet? Good luck with your brothers car, at least now you have some experience to help him with.

lowdedz- welcome man, let us know how your project goes. As far as meets go, stay tuned, we don't have anything in the works amongst ourselves here yet, but we will soon.

welcome to NICO loweredz, good luck with that project. how come you are going the route?
gr8bryt wrote: Congrats on getting your SR up and running!
just a ka jk im just glad to have my car running again. i am debating on whether i should buy coilovers now and wheels soon or saving for another week or two and buying an sr front clip . i could always save up for the sr later, the 4x4 suspension has to go.

i drove the car around the neighborhood a little bit the past few days, but today i took it on a decent drive. it overheated for some weird reason and then for the rest of the trip it was fine. idk if i mentioned i had an exhaust leak, but i fixed it today. i forgot to tighten up the bolts from the manifold to the exhaust haha.

im not sure what we are going to do about my brother cars. thinking about just buying a new motor and throwing it in there. depends on if we can find one for a decent price that we could get i guess. so james, if you decide you want to sell that motor instead of the s13 project then i will buy it from you.

we need to try to get a meet going soon. everyone try and think of some ideas and we need to see when everyone will be available to do something.

one thing I strongly suggest you do if you haven't addressed this already is now that you have had it running awhile, pull the spark plugs out and make sure there is no oil where they go. I still have a bad feeling after we loaded it on your truck and saw oil coming out. I just don't want to see you have any more problems.

Coilovers are uber expensive these days, I have not seen a set for less than a grand in quite a while. I really wanted a set too. I bought Eibach springs off ebay to lower my car for like $160. Of course your struts may go out after you do that and AJ-USA.com seemed to be the cheapest for struts. I only needed rears, and I went cheap and got the kyb's for $70, but the tokicos are under a hundred for the rear I believe also. If you don't want your car to sit quite as low as mine, you can get tein springs off ebay even cheaper than the eibachs, they leave the front a little higher than the eibachs. My car rides just fine and handles better than it used to also.

IMO, I'd spend the rest of the coilover budget on a silvia front and a paint job

Welcome to NICO Lowdedz, looks like we've got another type of ride in here with us fellas. Good luck with the project, keep us posted on your progress, it sounds kinda hairy. Maybe you can take pics along the way and do a write up on it when you're done. Just for a tally: Bunch of 240's, a G-coupe, and a Z32, and no schwin for me . I'm looking forward to our next meet as well. We should definitely have something before September.

Welcome back James, hope you enjoyed your trip. I haven't had a chance to look @ the car yet, but I'm going to put my multimeter on it this afternoon after work.

SCS13, my bad about the confusion . Perhaps I reading your mind that you're thinking of going sr. So I guess you have my input about what you should do with your savings . Go ahead and save up for a few so that you can get your clip and wait a little while on the wheels and suspension. Get the big stuff out of the way and then focus on the other things. It's easier imo to get the most expensive parts of the project up front and then take care of smaller things towards the end. See attached

one quick and easy thing to get out of the way would be to change out your terminals on your battery cables for some better ones from the parts store. My battery kept going dead because my ground terminal did not make good enough contact.

I may start work on my swap soon, I think I at least know enough to get most if not all the way done.

Sounds like you're following in the foot steps of James with the DD and the modded weekend racer. I hope everything goes well with that setup.

Bad news guys, I just found out that my starter is dead. I was hoping for something less demanding on the wallet, but I'm going to be searching the classifieds for a starter pretty soon once I get a little more $$. Anyway I just wanted to check in and let y'all know whats going on with the 240. I'll probably go ahead and change the water pump while I'm at it since the motor has about 165000 miles on it. i have a few water pumps but im pretty sure i dont have a starter. i wish i did so i could help you out.

anyways, power would be nice but i think right now i would rather have it look and handle a lot better than it does. the car is running right now and i JUST finished it so i think i could wait a while for an sr or something. does most exhaust for ka's work on sr's?

yeah they're universal from the cat back, it's the downpipes that don't match up I think. Exhausts are different for S13s and S14s I know that much.

I may have a starter laying around, I'll have to check the garage. scs13, if there wasn't one on the motor I sold you then I definitely have it somewhere, I don't know why I took it off.

I just saw fnf3, that was actually a really good movie, I don't care what anyone says. I'll own that one when it comes out on DVD.
