Heater hoses re-done, upper IM on, wiring harness on.

Just have to add a few grounds, wire up the battery and starter and reconnect the ECU wiring. Then it should fire up. :)

Finished up the battery wiring and fulled her up with oil. Until I get an intake, I can't hook up the IACV, so it's just plugged. Open exhaust, No O2 sensors, cooling system or accessories.

I'm pretty happy right now. The engine seems to be running like it's supposed to and the timing area is quiet.

Make sure you can monitor your oil pressure before you run it too much. Super excited!

Will the stock hood fit with the Xcessive motor mounts?

Sure, if you cut a hole in it.

it will if you bend the back of the hood. you'll end up with small gaps between the hood and the fender but its alot better then a big hole or an ugly cowl.

Ugly cowl? It doesn't have to be a gigantic, squared, muscle car type cowl. You'd be surprised what you can do. I'll let you know when I'm done with mine.

I think the very most I would be able to put up with is a DSM style bump.

I wonder if it would be feasible to fabricate a new and different intake manifold? I've seen it done twice, one on Top Secret's g35 skyline, the other on a 240Zx with a VH..both cars were TT'd though..

It would be feasible, but you start playing with the air dynamics. There is a calculated reason why the intake is so many inches long, around. There is a calculated reason why the Plenum runners are as long as they are. You have to know air intake physics before you start playing around with it.

Good news! Work has resumedthe other day. Just little stuff like installing drive shaft and shifter etc. I just received my exhaust components today too. I'll snap a few pics and make an update in the next day or so. Trying to have it drivable by next week

Now that spring time is getting closer, I've found some motivation to get this thing done... I've been doing some little things lately getting it ready to move under its own power.

I mounted the power steering pump and it was interfering with the sway bar, so I made some simple spacers out of 1/4" steel.

The new clearance:

I also moved the mount for the throttle cable to accommodate the stock S13 cable. You can see that it works, but it puts the mount very close to the throttle mechanism and was actually in the way at full throttle, so I had to notch it some.

That's about all I have pics of at the moment, but I have the clutch slave cylinder mounted and bled, the driveshaft installed and a few other nick-nacky things. My exhaust components are in too! I'm trying to make it drivable for short distances this week so it can be driven in / out of the shop for exhaust fab.

I notched the tension rod bracket for the power steering pulley and boxed it in. Then welded a plate on the bottom to box the bracket.

That's cool, as long as you think believe it's rigid enough. I just modded my power steering bracket. What are you doing for the alternator?

I don't forsee it having any problems.. Those things are flimsy anyway but now it's pretty solid. I think I'm just going to break out the wallet and order the xcessive mount and buy a new alternator. I tried mocking up the GM one I have over here, but there's just not much room for it to pivot to tension the belt the way the tabs are...
