Our "official position" is, we don't condone or approve of racing anywhere but on the track.

What I, my staff, or any members here choose to do in their private life is their business.

Be it known that my "kill" wasn't a kill (I got smoked), and it was on an empty freeway onramp with tons of visibility and significantly reduced risk.

I don't drop the hammer ANYWHERE where cross-traffic is a possibility.

Wasn't meaning to bust your nutz Greg, but I thought it was lame that everyone got all cool in your thread about the "contest" and baggs on the n00b.

I just like everyone to be treated fairly, that's all.

So is it cool or not for me to say that I with a group of friends (3 of them highway patrol) sustained speeds of 135 (max of about 170) for over an hour on some wide open fairly straight freeway with little to no traffic? oh - all on sportbikes....

Just checking...

p.s. no people or animals were harmed in the act...

That's where it all starts... On ramps! Trust me, I'm no angel. I've had my fair share of spirited moments as well.

To use your sex analogy though, I've pulled the whole "just the tip baby" line with a few ladies in my younger days. Next thing you know, you've got her ankles pressed against her ear lobes and she's screaming for you to smack her *** and call her a dirty girl. Before you know it, you've gone and blown your load in her cok warmer and your freaking out that you're going to knock up the principle's daughter... If I've seen it once, I've seen it a thousand times!

Inevitably, with street racing and sex it all starts with on ramps and "just the tip" but eventually you'll get too caught up in the moment that you'll stop at nothing to get the ultimate thrill. Either way, it's going to catch up to you.

The difference between Greg and pompom is that Greg is a grown man with children. He has experienced most of what life can offer and knows when to stop the madness. I bet that Greg has learned how to "pull out" in his day... A young buck full of kum who thinks they knows EVERYTHING about life doesn't know any better and will take it to the extreme just for that moments worth of satisfaction not taking into account the lifelong ramifications of his actions.

THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT YOU BRIZANDEN, SO DON'T THINK I'M BASHING!Rest assured that if any of these younguns goes out and kills themselves or others, THIS VERY THREAD will show up in a court of law. Are you willing to testify that you promoted, endorsed or encouraged someone to street race? I'm not! I think that the official stance of Nico has been clearly spelled out that they do not endorse this behavior. I just believe that this should not be a regular topic of conversation and should be shot down as quickly as possible as it ALWAYS ends up with someone getting pi$$ed. If we even begin to condone this behavior, then we are opening the doors for more extreme deadly behavior. I say shut them up from the get go and don't let them in our house then our "official" stance will never have to be questioned in a court of public scrutiny or a court of law.

If you're here to brag about illegally racing some putz on the street, then go blow your ego filled load somewhere else 'cause we won't have it. Maybe I'm out of line... Just my thoughts...

BE SAFE OUT THERE!Dave

Perhaps next time a Mod will come along and say:

Welcome to Nico! BTW, we don't condone street racing by allowing posting of outcomes here due to potential legal consequences. Hope you enjoy your stay!Post pics!! thread locked

Thanks Cobra, my primary point is to discourage others from street racing but my ultimate dedication is to you guys. From a legal standpoint, I'd hate to see any of our fellow Nico brothers have to go through a legal probe merely because our "official policy" was not clearly stated.

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that with as many members as we have on this site, there is inevitably going to be a street racing tragedy affect us. I however believe that the best defense is a good offense. In such a litigeous society, we must protect our best interest by disclaiming inappropriate conduct from the beginning. If we require new members to consent to a conduct agreement before becoming a member, then we are potentially relieving ourselves of liability in the future.

Just looking out for our administration. Maybe this is already a policy... I don't know...

actualy i didnt think u were bashing, but if you would have read my post on the street racing thread u would have noticed i said i dont condone street racing or spirited driving cause i know they are hard to distinguish from one another and can lead to each other, but doesnt mean i dont like to have fun your right. and i know i could hurt myself or others so i try to hold off till one of my autox's come around. Then again nothing feels better then opening up at about 40 in second or third on a empty high way in the middle of the night. and tht sex story was funny. happens to me all the time hahaha..... cept i dont lie to them about the tip i just straight send that **** in flyin at around 80mph.... wait am i talking about the car or my **** now? im so lost

I highly doubt that our thread would end up in a court of law. Despite NICO's very high google rating, most DAs I've seen are too lazy to search like that. Maybe it's just what I've seen.

I respect the "house rules", but lately I've seen too many people jumping on technicalities. It's a car club...If we met face-to-face we'd be telling stories about this honda and that suby.

With as many disclaimers as we make in these threads and the WARNING messages at the beginning of 2 out of the 3 Fast and Furious, I think we're doing good.

Dude, I got crucified on my second post for saying I drove fast. As I see it, most of the guys in this forum have tricked out engines and suspensions but drive like little old ladies from Pasadena on their way to church and treat people who are honest about the way they drive like leppers. So, I would just talk about all of the mods you have done to your car but that you don't use them and you will be fine. Let the negative comments fly boys but you treat newbies like crap.

sorry....I've come off my soapbox. I agree that we have come down hard in the past. Again, sorry.I think some of us older posters have just seen a lot of bad things happen over the years with friends/family that have been involved in street racing accidents.

One of my experiences: 17 years old. Sunday morning. Mother wakes me to tell me my best friend is in the hospital from an accident and it looks like he's not going to make it. I had spent the day before with him washing his 84 camaro. He was going out with his other buddy Carl, I had a date with my GF. I had asked how Carl drove and he said he trusted his driving with his life. Now, he was in Baptist Hospital with 7 concusions. They were out racing that night in Carls white 69 camaro. Lost control around 100 clipped a telephone pole and my buddy flew out the window. He was in a coma for 3 or 6 months. They upgraded him to possibly be a vegatible. Anyway, he eventually left the hospital, but was never the same. My buddy was an exceptional driver. I assume his buddy was too.

I guess we just hope people don't see posts here that might encourage an impressionable mind to go do something dangerous.

We don't mean to chase anybody off.

I could only read about 2/3 of this thread before i felt like i read everything 10 times.

I think the general idea is to drive your car safely. We all know when it is safe and when it is not. Driving fast does not mean you are unsafe (in some instances).

I'd bet that everyone has raced someone on the street at some point in their life. Older people are just a little wiser in their years and like to act as parents to everyone else. We'll all learn our own way, though, in the end....
