Installed the gas tank last night, and the wiring harness in the car.

Worked on stupid seat rails for 2 hours. Swapping B13 SE-R seats into the S13 chassis.

Rear suspension will go on next Tuesday along with the rest of the intake and exhaust fun. So I can weld up the intercooler piping and downpipe.

Well I made a descision to skip the turbo I currently own, so the 50 trim is out all together never to even get installed. I'm don't want to keep redoing things so I'm going to just buy the turbo I want now. So I'm picking up a T3/GT40 (same compressor as GT35R) .82 A/R. I figure that's capable to get me into the 600's and have reasonably decent spool characteristics. So I'll order it in the next couple of weeks, which detains finishing this project a little, but it'll be worth it.

Ordered it just now actually.

That it'll max out the same as my 720's and intercooler...so I'll probably just stop about there with my power desires.

Here's a pic after I started polishing up the manifold. It's going to look awesome. Crappy pic though (camera phone). I've finished the majority of the plenum, but haven't gotten anywhere on the runners.

Everything looks great! But, I have a question...

Why do all that to the SOHC KA? Why did you choose that over the DOHC?

I like the powerband of the SOHC, better than the DOHC. I know it's odd, but I've driven both and that's what I prefer. Both awesome motors, but partially i have 2 (did have 3) spares and didn't see the point of switching out all of this for another.

Both motors are capable of putting down plenty of power, so not really concerned.

Yup we sorted it out to use the stock rail. Since it's flows plenty that we weren't worried about having to replace it.

I wonder if they'd be interested in making anymore... I share your ambitions with the SOHC since it is a greatly untapped resource I feel.

check out http://www.hybridka.com for a good selection of cams and valvetrain upgrades (solid lifters! woot!)

if you're interested I'll check again but I recall somewhere hearing the exhaust valvesprings/retainers from the L-series engines can be used as an upgrade.

Before anyone says anything about the specs in the manifold, I have yet to clean it out, just polish the outside.=)

Yeah, I have a lot of love for the 'ole SOHC. Old turbo has been sold to another member here, both of them. This is the 3rd turbo this car has seen since it's planning stages. Without every having been fired up with one on it.=)

while it would help with airflow the big Greddy FMIC mounts up similar to that only about 1/2 of it is blocked by the bumper and bumper cover. I guess I'm a wuss but I'd rather be safe and have the full bumper support protecting me than get a little extra flow to the intercooler.

the pics match up just keep in mind there's a little flap that sticks up on the top of the bumper support hiding the welds.

Relax there will be either circular holes cut, but probably a large rectangular hole cut into it. I probably also make a bellmouth formed around it to help a little bit. It will flow just fine when finished. When things appear unfinished they probably are, just progress pics.=)

My nephew lost a ES subframe bushing the other day, so I ordered a set of SPL aluminum subframe bushings. So those will replace the red ES bushing that currently reside in the frame.
