Thanks...I appreciate that. The S14 you are referring to is mine.

Hey!!! Habu rules!!!!! heh, I guess thats the cars name. I think I picked that up correctly from your cardomain site. I visit that site almost everyday to admire the shear beauty of that mcs14. Kudos man, your car rules. Hawaii has awesome backgrounds too. If I remember, thats where you live :)

Ben, I know you're attached to your car, but here is something you need to think about. If you get the car back from the insurance company, it's probably going to have a branded title. This means either a rebuilt or salvage title. And no matter how nice the car is after that, it's value will be significantly less no matter what. You would be throwing a lot of coin down the crapper.

You may want to buy the car back and then use it as a parts car for another s14 or even s13 that has a clean title. You may want to eventually resell the car someday.

Think about it.

Andy's gotta point there. I would see if you can get the car totalled and buy an s13 and use the extra money, if any, for mods.

No s13 fo me. But yes, I do realize that Dane. There are alot of pros and cons to fixing the car. There are also pros and cons to not. But, nothing is definate yet, and we still don't know what the insurance has decided, so we will just deal with stuff as we go along.

i just remembered when i was 16 with a permit something like this happened when i was driving my dads pathfinder. Some lady gets off an onramp, get in my lane (right lane) and decides to stop. I get on the brakes very smoothly and am surprised i didn't jam on them and lock them up. didn't hit her but some people are seriously morons. anyway, 2001 pathfinders have abs right? i wouldnt have to have worried about locking them up? This was a very busy highway going directly to nyc, so the traffic is always too heavy to switch lanes. I dont know what abs is like because my 240sx doesnt have it, so i'm not used to it.

you have 240 posts. Nice # ;) Oh, and for the record, if i did even *think* about getting a s13, it would most likely be a coupe. If LOVE the kouki tails on the fastback, but I gotta stick w/ my s14 roots; coupe :)

Ben, sorry to hear/see your bad luck. Hope things work out either fixing it yourself or finding something that will make you happy. If they total it, I'd suggest letting it go since it will then have a salvage title if you purchase the vehicle which means it won't be worth near the investment...

I don't know why I wrote "if" since I knew they had....

Are you still thinking of purchasing the "wreck"? Might be a kewl project car.....Fix the frame, replace the front, strip the car down, BIG turgo, etc, etc. Something to race 1/4 + autoX, but not actually drive on the road...

Ben will have to drive what ever he gets as his daily driver. He is just waiting to see who the Ins. companys say was at fault.I sure hpe they say that it was hers! Ben I still think your better of not to buy the car back if it has a bent frame.Look into a 200sx seR or S13/S14. Something nice, upgreadable, and Nissan.;)

Ben... Thanks again for the praise. Yeah, Habu is my car's name (I know...I'm a dork). Hawai'i was fantastic!!! I'm in Florida now. Who knows...mebbe I'll get stationed back in Hawai'i again. Bowling Green, huh? I'm gonna try to hit the National Corvette Museum with my dad for my birthday next month...

I must offer my condolences about your S14...damn shame Bubba. I hope that you are able to get what you want.

Take care,--Doug

Dane is 100% correct. I am just waiting on the insurance companies decision. I really haven't discussed things with my parents, other than there for a while (before I knew the problems with fixing the car) I wanted to fix it. But, if I dont get it fixed, I will part it out most likely and definately try and get another s14. If worse comes to worse, a 200sx, but nothing less than a SE-R. Whatever I get will DEFINATELY be a Nissan.

Oh, Doug, seriously, give me a heads up when you plan on coming up to BG. You should come September 6th for the large BG NICO meet we are having. They are always a LOT of fun, and the Vette Museum is probably one of the things we will be doing to pass time and entertain ourselves. Think about it ;)

I got a copy of the police report (finally). Said I was in the right lane when she pulled in front of me, and she cuncurred with what I said and she said she didnt' see me. So, we'll see what the insurance has to say about the matter.

You'll win, if that is what it says in the police report. Well its not actually winning, considering what you "won". But at least her insurance company will be paying for your car. Now you should DEFINITLY let them total it out, then buy it back. It'll all work out for the best.

What do you think about a s15 front end on my car? I need a new front end anyway....I have a hookup in Japan, so he could at least get me the headlights for cheaper than anywhere else probably...

I have been looking at more pics of the s14 w/ the OEM front and the Greddy lip. I am loving it. I change my mind every few hours it seems like, though. But, since parts will be much cheaper and easier to find if I go back to the stock front, that is most likely what will happen, no matter what kind of ideas I have.
