don't get sportmax's-they are crapdon't turbo the sohc- it is crapdon't refab your crappy s13 seats, save your money and get some good buckets

the first things you should do are:

1. upgrade to 5 lug2. upgrade wheel/tires3. upgrade brakes4. upgrade suspension
SOHC isnt crap, Sportmax's arent crap, ill probably go with some nice bucket seats later when i redo the interior, i dont want 5 lug, i dont want to buy wheels and tires just yet cuz i have new tires on, i got new brakes, and i will get a Tein Coilover suspension kit by the end of next year hopefully. I dont think my plans are a failure in the making.

depends on your view. if you are just going for a "look" on a budget and want something that kids around the block will ooh and aah over, sportmaxxes are fine.

for everything else, they are fail. put the money into suspension or engine work instead, you wont regret it. also: dont recover the s13 seats, im SURE it would be cheaper to find a set of s14 seats for $50 bucks than to spend at least that and end up with the same crappy seats.

What is it about Sportmaxxes that make them so bad? And i was actually thinking of going for some bucket seats like these http://www.jmooneyham.com/orig...r.jpgThey're out of a 69 Mustang Mach 1 and ill just get them fabbed up to look the way i want them.

Those seats will look terrible in a 240 and they won't hold you very still at all, you'll be sliding all over.

the sohc IS NOTworth turboing.

sportmax's are known to be garbage

going 5 lug will give you more options as to wheels and brakes.

the only reason that you would keep your sohc, buy sportmax's and stay 4 lug is because you are cheap, and are willing to cut corners on your project, which in the end will only bite you in the ***. you get what you pay for with cars, and if you cut the corners that you are planning to, you will eventually regret the money you wasted on lesser quality parts, and mods.

Not worth turboing!!! Are you crazy there have been plenty of sohc that have put up very good numbers and run well as daily drivers as well as track cars. Just because someone has a sohc doesnt mean there cheap in all cases.

What im gonna do is im gonna keep my SOHC, im not gonna go 5 lug cuz i can still get some damn good brakes when i need them, and please tell me why are sportmaxxes known to be crap? They dont help with performance in anyway, but neither do rims in general. So how do sportmaxxes get their rep as garbage?

sportmax are know to be heavy and not rigid.

get them, i hope that you enjoy them and they serve their purpose.

you use the fact that your car is going to be a dd as an excuse to half *** your project and put crappy parts on it? my 14 is my daily, but i don't skimp on quality parts just because it is my daily. if anything you should want great parts because you are going to be daily driving your car.

the last thing i will say is there are reasons that the parts you want to buy for your car are so cheap. in cars you get what you pay for.

Now seriously tell me what parts are exactly considered cheap? So the Garrett Turbo kit im buying is half assed and cheap? The Greddy intercooler? The Tein coilover suspension kit? So your saying just because i happen to like the Sportmaxxes and my SOHC, i am half assing my project?

the garrett kit is pretty good, so are some of the greddy intercoolers, but putting them on a sohc is like putting gold on crap, no matter how much you cover it up, it will still be crap. there is a reason people get rid of their sohc motors for dohc all the time.

i still stand by the fact that sportmax's are crap.

Well now that i think about it, wheels can help drifters if they are lighter.

Don't smoke the tails on a white car, looks goofy IMO.
