*EDIT* Car is a 2001 Silvia Spec-R

Last night, we got a group of friends to go out to do some 1/4mile runs just for fun...Among the cars in our group is a 2001 Nissan S15 Silvia Spec-R, and yes it is a very very clean car. I'm quite sure its 100% stock, so heres my story.

My car is a 1989 240sx coupe, mostly set up for drifting, but i do have the following "go" mods:

-Intake-3inch Cat-back Apex'i N1 Dual exhaust-Gutted Cat-Converter-b&m short shifter-Viscous LSD.

So me and the s15 decide to line up for fun, and i thought i was going to get destroyed since my motor is yet to be boosted.

We launch, and i spun pretty bad but let off in 1st to regain traction, and I was pulling the s15 in 1st. Shift to 2nd and i was still ahead, but not pulling, and by the time i shift to third the s15 is right next to me, slowly creeping by. By the upper end of 4th, which is when we let off (around 95mph), my front bumper was about 1 foot past the S15's Rear bumper, so the s15 took the win, but not by much.

I had one passenger, and my clutch is pretty toast but didn't slip TOO bad...the s15 had 2 passengers, and his clutch didn't slip.

All of this took place just after i raced my brother who was driving his KA-T s13 coupe, running only 5.7psi after he catches traction he blows by me like im not moving.

Something seem wrong here? I never really dug deep into the specs of an s15 until today, and i found they weigh about 2800 pounds also...basically the same weight as my car.

How is it that my ka with only intake and exhaust (168k miles w/ 175PSI Compression on all cylinders) kept up with an s15?

some of you may not know that stock s15's arent that fast anyways.. And with people with proof that bone stock s13's running just a LSD and Drag radials can run 15.3,How is it such a far stretch so say an s13 with light modification would keep close to a 100% STOCK s15? S15's only run stock a 13.9, and thats with a GOOD driver....New.

Anyways, next if i happen to go up against the s15 again(if he comes out i will) ill film it and post it.

You do that with the S15 not peddling it. I'll stop laughing then. Not a second sooner.

well quite simply put, 1.5 is more then just him being 3/4 of a car away. I'm not saying your a liar just that his time was not even close to 13.9..... Point is he must drive like an older gentlemen I know shifting at no more then 4000 rpm.....

oh yeah just to be political.. street racing FTL

I probably shoulda had video proof before posting. No it wasn't a sentra, sorry but i don't see how anyone could confuse the two. It's been raining all week here (oregon) so i'll have to get video ASAP (when weather permits). Laugh all you want though, i'd laugh too if i heard this before i actually did it. I didn't think i'd stay close either believe me.

Don't post anymore until you have the video. People will just laugh at you. Me included. Your SOHC KA did not beat an S15. You are a poser.

Hey man I understand. I had the same thing happen to me (sort of). I have video though for proof. I pulled up to this guy about a week ago after getting my new camcorder (I had my buddy film the video). I have an ebay filter and a crappy exhaust, but that's it really. I smoked this guy bad and you'd think that I would have gotten hard by him, but no. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGU3iHW7npU

WD is coolest Moderator EVER

Don't come in here w/out video proof of something like that, bc there's very little chance of an S13 with a NA KA beating an S15. If you can get proof (at a race track preferably) then I'll eat my words.

If he has the non turbo S15 I'd believe it but that is ruled out by the Spec R part. My BS stance remains

Edit: I'd still say you are a fool but it would be a little easier to swallow/ believe

$H*t a Non turbo s15 would still kill almost every na ka...S15 are fast cars..Nissan made them to be...Nissan did not want or make the usdm 240sx fast by any means..16-15sec cars are not fast in my book..

i think that you could be telling the truth just because i have kept up with cars that im not able 2. like a STi. even tho the STI Gave me a half Second Head start i still beat him by a half car. i would say that the S15 might of had a bad race. If he didnt mess up nice victory.

Dudes, I understand this sounds ridiculous...

The s15 dyno'd at I believe 179 whp. I've heard it was due to some ignition problems, or something along those lines. I lived in eugene up until about 1 month ago, we only have 1 dyno there and numbers tend to get spread around quickly.. especially when an s15 puts down 179 whp lol!

Car's for sale for $40,000 if you're interested

The KA24E puts out 98 whp. Even if the S15 was running on 3 cylinders, there is no way in hell.
