Thanx 4 the complement, but the 2K2 Max image is from a Nissan Press photo. Mine is identical, sans the window tint. No fraud intended. Sorry for any confusion.

No problem. There is a local (Fezzik) who has the same year/color...very beautiful. You looking to put any mods to it?

Hi Nico comrades.

Just stumbled on this site, looks good.

My ride's a 1995 Aussie-spec Maxima 30G, which is the equiv. of the I30, so I'm told. Picked it up at a local auction yard following rather painful demise of previous ride (87 Mazda RX-7 - RIP, destroyed in fire)

Current specification, stock 3L engine, standard cloth trim, auto, cruise, mod cons left, right and center. Had a full 2" custom stainless steel exhaust installed in 2004, approx 10% performance gain as per dyno test.

New bits just acquired and awaiting fitting...1) Brembo slotted+drilled discs for front (Bendix Ultimate brake pads on the way) - these are stock OEM size.

2) Stereo gear: Alpine CDA-9813 deck, Alpine KCA-420i iPod adaptor, 12" Alpine S series sub, ADS P650 amplifier.

On the drawcard:1) Custom stainless steel extractors (not going to be cheap, but on top of the 10% already gained with the existing s/steel exhaust, it's going to make a ton of difference

2) Replacing other speakers in car (need some help here. I'm told the door speakers are 6.5".

3) Upholstery and interior - the previous owner probably was a painter, the cloth seats are in a rather ordinary shape. Probably was a smoker too from some unusual scorch marks.

4) Wheels and tyres - lower on the priority list. Yokohamas on the car now give good grip.

5) Engine mods - cold air intake, K&N filter.

6) Colour retouch and glaze

Only things I can think of right now. Will look at suspension/shocks as well if ppl can give some pointers.

Cheers.

So far I've done a K&N drop in, bumped timing to 17 deg BTDC, and use QuikTrip 93 octane exclusively. On my future list, definitely a Technosquare ECU. I purchased a 5" premium air duct (part #1414) from MarchPerformance a couple of years ago to fab a custom cold air intake with an internal flap for those rainy days. I from time to time would check the local salvages for an extra lower left splash tray and stock air box but it seems there are no totaled A33's around here. But since the Max has dipped in the high 14's, I'm not really in a hurry for that ram-air setup right now. That will fall under future fantasy mods.

And now for the fantasy mod list.

I'm a little curious of how well a JWT (part #A3503N00S1) or Nismo (#13020RNZ35) Billet Camshaft Set would work with the OEM exhaust as I wouldn't want to announce to everyone the Max had some tricks up it's sleeve. I love the sound of silence as well as appearing completely OEM. I've also wondered about using the 350Z 35thAE/Track Lower Intake Plenum. There is some debate on 350zmotoring.com, about using it on a freeway cruiser as it loses some low to midrange horsepower and torque but gains a few extra horses in the upper reaches of the RPM band. The revlimit would need to be raised to make the most of this swap. Some of the Maxima.org guys that discussed this magic lower plenum have some reservations as to whether or not it can be installed in the Maxima's sidewinder VQ. Tony of 350zmotoring.com and Performance Nissan states that the benefit to using the lower plenum is that you don't have to worry about fitment issues with engine covers, strut bars, etc... as the fitment is OEM. There is no spacing or extra room that is taken up by the lower plenum. Whew! Oh and if any of that works well, then on to a Quaife Differential and 5-speed auto from an A34.

End of fantasy mod list.

Welcome aboard!

There is a seperate picture thread for pix if you would like to post any. As for any wing, it's "to each his own". You like it, that's what counts...

What's up guys...I can't believe I didn't see this thread! So I'm checking in! I just started showing my ride this year and so far I'm 3 for 3. Three shows under my belt and I took home trophies from all of them! Check out my cardomain webpage for pics. There are plenty of links for show coverage on there too.

Later guys and I look forward to seeing you all at the NOPI nat's in Sept!

hI TI ALL Nisssan and infiniti owners, I am an inifinti I 30 owner residiing in Bahrain(Middle East). They sell the infiniti I 30 as a maxima here and they haven't introduced the I35. I am looking for tips to increase the out put of the engine iwth out sacrificing alot of the luxury, I am not gready I am targetting between 250 to 260 BHP. I have already put in turbonator and a K&N sport filter and I can feel the difference, should I go for the Split fire spark plugs. I need to Know as I will be racing against my brother's new 2005 Altima 3.5 SE.

Welcome aboard.

I would go for standard copper for performance. They don't last as long but from what I have seen they offer the best performance (from what I have heard at least). Plat spark plugs would be next. Most mechanics have told me that SplitFire plugs don't help at all.

What color/year?

(When I made this post I forgot to introduce myself)What's up guys, Im Tyler.

I have a 1997 Pearl White SE. Black/Leather, Carbon fiber dash kit, gen2 carbon fiber tails, smoked corner lights, B&M short-throw, Exedy Stage2 clutch (going out), Injen style CAI, full 2.5'' warpspeed exhaust- 3'' y-pipe, highflow cat, 2.5'' B-pipe w/ Magnaflow resonator and OBX muffler. It's dropped with KYB struts/shocks with H&R springs. Should have 00VI installed within a few weeks, new rims before snow (even though I can't drive w/ them). This is my second Max, it is still N/A but im working on that as we speak. $$$ is the only problem right now.

Hope to see you guys around, you should come to Madison on a Friday/Saturday night if its not raining. Fridays are very good nights for the strip, alot of people. We park in front of the highschool.

I'll get some pics soon.

So what is the color of the wife's I30?

Interior?

Your driving impressions?

I just bought myself a new Maxima to replace my 240SX as a daily driver! '04 SE, 6sp running on 20's... Probably getting a set of stock 18's. The chromes came with the car.

HOT!

If you're looking for getting your stock 18's back, ebay is the place to look. I've been trying to find a cheap pair for my '93, and the dealer wants over 1200 for a set. Here you can find them a bit cheaper, though. And there are always multiple auctions, so if you miss this one, there'll be another.
