I have a Nissan Maxima 2000 GLE. Its SES (check engine) light went on arnd 1 and 1/2 months back.It gave an error code p0171. After reading some postings in the site I replaced the MAF. It had some hesitation on cold start and had a rattling sound on sudden acceleration. After replacing the MAF, these two problem were resolved. My SES light went off after arnd 100 miles drive in 2 days. but it came back again in less than 30 miles. now the codes are p0100 and p0430. Is it because i have not done the reprogramming after replacing MAF? or my catalytic converter is gone bad? I would appreciate all the helps.

Thanks in AdvanceAnil

Thanks Scott for the links. Is there any way I can find out whether the cat is bad except the ECM code. There is no rotten egg smell as I read some where that this is one of the symptoms of a bad cat.

Thanksanil

Not really, if you're getting the code chances are it's toast. The rotten egg smell usually applies to the main cat, not necessarily the pre cats.
