Whatsup Everyone! Been thinking about posting up my project for a while now but I wanted to wait until i got some progress going. I bought it pretty busted as you will see in the pics.

Even tho it looked busted up, I thought I would turn it into a drift/street car.

I bought the car in October 07 in NC. It is a 92 with 5speed. I bought it with on 92,000 in it. It didnt have any rust on it other than the hatch. It definatly got owned tho THe brace was busted, the core support obliterated, left side frame rail was blown up, tension rods bent and tie rods bent. The car drived like crap.

Here it is when i first got it.

This is what happened while i was driving back after buying it.

Let the damage begin Yup half a bumper missing and i dont think your suppose to see that brace

Not pretty

Tension rod started to come through the brace.

radiator was also bent real bad

Busted core support Drove the car like this for about 4 months

In Jan. 08 I started to save up money and buy some parts. Here is what I bought.Nismo powerbrace, oem control arms, no name adjustable tension rods.I also purchased a brand new core support and radiator.

At the begining of this summer I handed my car over to Top Quality collision and this is what they did.

New radiator and core support

Power brace in.

Tension rods and c/a in. They also pulled the frame rails and welded them. After this operation my s13 drove alot smoother.

About 3 weeks ago I decided to replace my inner and outer tie rods. I never did it before but i decided to give it a stab.Success! After I got an alignment and the steering felt alot tighter.

The next thing i plan on doing is installing coilovers and work on the rear suspension: subframe spacers, toe rods, etc.

I also recommend replacing the Caliper and Rotors with ABS versions. Those are cheaper than non-ABS and also larger. Most old cars don't get replacement pads with shims, which rubs off the fingers on calipers and make pad wear and contact un-even.

Plus I wouldn't trust 16 years old rubber seals on the brake calipers.

Look into replacing your chassis bushings. Those help a lot with ride.

Don't bother much for wheels, spend money on nice set of tires like Yokohama S-Drive, etc. The rubber quality in tires make a great difference.

Awesome thanks alot. Does the abs calipers and rotors conflict with my non abs?

After I blew out my tire, i bought some Falken Ziex512, nothing special but just to move.

You can fit in ABS caliper and rotor with no issue. You just need to replace both at the same time. As for pads with shims, get Duralast Gold. They come with perfect fit shims and cheaper than buying generic shims separately.

Before your engine goes bust, remove the upper timing chaing guide, replace the timing chain tensioner and do the valve cover gasket at the same time.

As for oil, I recommend nothing less than Royal Purple and Purelator PureOne oil filter. Go Pennzoil if you can't afford Royal Purple. Pouring SeaFoam into the oil before draining helps.

Not bad, just so so. But you can get $3.5/qt for 3,000 mile range or you can get $7/qt that can last you 7,000 miles with better lubrication. As for the filter, there is no compromise.

Royal purple is sounding more tempting.

They definately did a good job, but they are a pretty busy shop at the begining of summer. They couldn't fix my car for a month but its ok, they fixed it up real nice.

man you got ripped, as far as parts. go to courtesy nissan parts first. even they're a little expensive but you could have bought all of the front end body subframe for about 400.

When i checked CourtesyParts at the time the rad support and shipping ended up being over $500 so I decided to just buy it from the shop. Wish i could have bought it for $400 but its all good, its fixed now.

Wholy crap! That was one busted front end... Glad you got it fixed.... I've still got to order a set of adjustable tension rod's for my car. I was going to offer you my old radiator for dirt but i just read that you got a new one... So n/m It's collecting dust in my storage room. What are your future plans for it so far?

Ps.... I want your fenders............

looks good so far, props to bring that thing back from being seriously f*ed up....

idk if i would do the whole ABS swap thing, i think if u just get some hawk pads and slotted rotors u will be fine, if ur gonna swap cailpers u might as well upgrade to q45s, with just simply bending the dust shield, u get get 11 in rotors and still clear stock wheels (teardrops or seven spoke)

For sure it looksed so much more busted in person but im glad its done now my next plans for the car would be to finish of the suspension by getting some: coilovers (stance or teins), RUCAs, TCAs, traction rods, sway bars, strut bars, subframe spacers/collars. Also work on the breaks. I would like to get the coils first tho.

I dont think you want my fenders they are dinged a bit and paint isnt consistent

Thanks, yeah i definately was thinking about just getting some hawk pads and some slotted rotors. Im looking for some pads that would be good for just daily driving and maybe on the weekend drifting. Any reccomendations?
