Damn, looks like your on a good start. You paintball? I see the monkeyt with a gun and critical paintball stickers. I used to shoot for Karnage Factory (Dunno if you've ever shot their paint). I shot a 2k5ed ironmen timmy

Funny how you go from paintball guns to cars.

Thanks, i did used to pball. I used to rock a PM5 and an 06 ego. I just felt that I couldnt afford the sport after 3 years So i sold everything except for the jerseys, etc and my pm5. Definately glad i got out of it, cuz I dont think i would have my s13.

I feel ya. I almost had a free ride, and the **** was still way too expensive. I paid maybe 20 bucks for a full day with unlimited paint and air. I also had a pm6, but that **** shot like such crap. I sold all my stuff cept for my Old School Hustle Jersey (Such a ****en savage *** team), and my dye pants. Idk who the hell would want to wear my old gear that I sweat and bled into. I also kept my masks. I got bunkered one day playing back center and the fool shot me straight up in the ear. Perferated my ear drum. Blood and paint just gushing out. Damn JT Small soft ears were no where near covering me ears :'(. took a month to heal, couldnt hear out of my left ear.

but ya, Cars>Paintball, nuff said. Unless your rich then you know havbe as many toys as you want. one of my old teammates from old school hustle used to have an s13 with sr and stuff, he sold that and moved up to a supercharged shelby gt500. ****en 450whp i envy him so much.

I honestly wish I could say the same, but once you enter tourney ball, its more of a hassle then it is fun. I dealt with so much bull**** and people accusing me of wiping and ****. Half the time I just got so pissed off I would run down the field at them, taking about 20 balls, and I'd just dump a hopper into their necks. I've been kicked off of about 4 fields for this, but damn does it feel good to shut the ****ers up. With cars I don't get any of that bull****. Hell even in races everyone I've met has been more than chill, and you can't really cheat in auto-x, drift, or street racing. Plus its just a race, unlike paintball where it seemed to be my life. All in all, just get out and drive instead of sitting behind a ****en neoprene air filled bunker trying to stay alive. /end rant.

Whats your next step to this build?

I feel you, i went to a bunch of tourneys prolly not as many as you or as high of a level. It gets dramatic out their, misscalls, bounces, wipes, wiping while diving, etc. It gets way to out of hand sometimes. I know what you mean. My next step is to get some coilovers, ethier some GR's or Flex. Than deckout the rest of the suspension: ruca, traction rods, subframe bushings, etc. Its gonna be a while tho cuz I gotta save up a bunch

my best advice would be to keep a look out in the classifieds here. Your bound to find a steal of a deal for rucas or some other suspension parts, but im sure you know that already. I'm glad your doing that and not some body kit or something first

Definately been doing that just about everyday classifieds are very awesome I'm also glad im not getting a body kit or wheels, even the engine first. I Definately think suspension should be first, except for doing the basics to your engine: all the fluids, brakes, filters, etc. just to make sure its reliable until the swap

Hawk pads are the ****.

Brake fluid is brake fluid though unless you plan to track the car, which you better NOT do with stock brakes. Save yourself the extra money and just get some basic dot3/dot4 at your local Napa. I'm not a terribly big fan of stainless brake lines, either... the ones I had on my S13 were a little short, so the ends got stressed and started weeping fluid- but the reason why i'm not a big fan is because when I replaced them with new oem replacement rubber lines, I couldn't tell a difference in the way the brakes felt.

edit: also, contrary to a previously mentioned "there is no compromise" to oil filters, We're talking about a 14 year old low tolerance motor that probably hasn't had the best life. A Wix or Nissan brand filter is fine, too. Anything but FRAM is, for all intents and purposes, just as well as whatever the opinion of top brand is. I do believe in Royal Purple though. Mobil-1 is a close 2nd place.

* Brakes Update*

After a while of waiting for backordered parts, I finally got my brakes pads, rotors, ss lines, speed bleeders, and fluid

The rotors came in the mail first

They looked very nice

Car flying ( bad pic, garage is small)

rotors off (was very ez)

Old vs. new

new ones on

Than the next day i got all my other brake stuff

Very nice

Finished installing everything except for the rear brake lines. It was pretty ez installing everything. The passanger side brake line was a little stubborn but a bit of freeze off solved that prob.

Has anyone ever installed new brake lines on the rear? The braket that holds the rear brake line end on the chassis doesnt have a slit in the bracket. So do you have to cut it open?

yes, they should slip right off. What i did was, spray some freeze off in those two little holes on the rotors and sprayed around the threads. It should pop right off

*Suspension Update*

Finally got a couple more suspension pieces.

Got my Kazama ruca and toe arms. ( they look very nice)

I also got my Stance Gr+ pros (I thought they were gonna be small )

I started with installing the rear.

Old vs. new Kazama ruca

Old vs. new Kazama toe arm

Old vs. new rear Stance coils

Than i worked on the front.

Old vs. new front Stance coils

front installed

It took a long time. Took a while to adjust but i think i finally got it. All i need is an alignment.

Here are the before and after pics.

Before

After

Im not too sure how much i dropped the front and rear, but i did try to get it low.

The inital test drive was akward, because right when i backed out i heard a wierd noise. I realized that my front driver side tire was rubbing the fender liner. Funny thing is that the passanger side is fine. When i turn right the driver side tire rubs the junk out of the fender liner, yet when i turn left nothing is rubbing. Both sides are even. What do people normally do? Cut it up? take it out? Other than that prob they feel nice. Once i get the alignment they should feel perfect
