i think that it shouldnt be "legal" but decriminalized...like i seriously doubt that i will ever get to see weed legal, and sold in stores and sh1t...BUT decriminalized, means it wont be legal to sell in stores, but if u have lets say an O on u and get caught, ur as$ isnt going to jail...which would be cool...and as for smoking weed and not going well in school...i smoke almost everyday and last term i got 3.5GPA, and as of mid term this term i had a 3.0gpa

Um... I'm in the same boat as you. I've smoked a total of two times. Was it fun? Yeah it was a cool experience. Would I do it again? Sure, but I won't go out of my way to do it.

if weed is ever legalized, it should have a minimum age to but it, like alcohol or tobacco. that way itll be harder for younger kids to buy it. i kno that it is a whole lot more difficult to get alchohol (me being only 18) than it is to get weed

in my eyes, its a plant. pretty sad people's lives get ruined all over smoking a simple plant that is older then the human race.

ive lost near a grand in costs to the court system over gettin high.

I say keep marijuana illegal, and add alcohol to that list. Do we really need more chemically altered people out there? I say we don't. I never hear of anything positive coming from getting drunk or high. Its simply not needed.

What it comes down to is that there is no reason for those substances. You smoke/drink because its fun? I know plenty of other ways to have fun. It helps you relax? There are plenty of other ways to relax and enjoy your freetime that are not harmful to others or yourself.

Jesda, I was expecting someone to say exactly this. Now take a look at my post. I said alcohol and marijuana were unneeded which is true, and like you said, other things are also unneeded. The difference lies in the fact that both alcohol and marijuana are harmful to yourself and other people. I'm sure you can figure what is harmful about them. You could argue that sugar is harmful, someone will no doubt. I'll save the sugar arguement for when the discussion turns irrational.

Gabossie, the things you mentioned are in the food pyramid, and they are things you are encouraged to eat to stay healthy. Now, if you overeat thats just as bad as smoking/abusing alcohol.

Tell me a single case where some one has DIED from POT and will say it is bad for you until then you do not make any sense to me by saying it is bad for you. I can see Beer and wiskey and the such it was documented along with tobacco. which the body can not break down the tar which in turns causes lung cancer. But THC from Pot can be broken down by Fats cells in you body. Smoking ciggretts is the Number one preventiable cause of death being FAT is number 2 so why don't you go hit some fat person up at McDonalds and say the this is harmful.

I do tell them its harmful, and they are not fat because they eat only at mcdonalds. They are fat because they do not stay active and they over eat. Those two things combined will get you fat, and like I said in my earlier post " Now, if you overeat thats just as bad as smoking/abusing alcohol."

It is a proven fact that pot has more cancer causing agents than a cigarette. It also impaires your judgement and senses. Inhaling smoke into your lungs is not healthy. The article someone posted about marijuana addiction is completely true. I've seen it happen. I knew this guy in highschool who was a total pothead, now hes moved on LSD and other such drugs... hes totally ****ed.

i can understand why you would say pot is bad to the person who is using it, but i dont see how in any way pot is bad for other people who dont smoke. in my eyes, the argument already turned irrational when you declared that alcohol and MJ should be illegal because they are unnesessary. can you elaborate on why you think MJ is dangerous to others?

smoking anything deposits carcinogenic tar in your lungs, i suppose you could eat it and be cancer free, but frankly if you live in california, your lungs will still look like a smokers lungs by 40 probably sooner, thats just the youngest proof ive seen.

CANABIS is illegal because of the oldest industry in US history. Before there was any other type of industry (other than hunting and trading) here in the US there were tobacco plantations. Tobacco was the first large industry in the united states and thay have invested heavily in our government ensuring that their interests are protected. What kind of impact would these tobacco companies face if marijuana was legalized? They would s**t bricks!420

Just so you know, they were not a drug band. They stayed away from drugs because they first hand what it did to Syd Barret (The original guitarist before David Gilmore). Syd was addicted to LSD and went off the deep end.

You know where the "Post" butotn is? Right above that there's a button that says "Browse". Click that and it'll bring up a window to allow you to select a file from your computer to upload. When you've selected it click Ok. Then type something into the response screen, this is required, then cclick "Post" and you're done
