@Debonair what did you end up using for your parking lights? The ones I ordered are not bright enough for me. But they do work very well for license plate lighting.
JDM Astar Super Bright 912 921 T10/T15 AX-2835 SMD LED Light Bulb - Amazon

I have been running these in the parking light position as DRL's (see here) since December 2015.

Ah. I didn’t even think to use a different type of bulb in that location. How the heck did you get that bulb into the housing? I could barely get the tiny 168 style bulb to fit into the hole with all the stuff(mounts/windshield washer fluid funnel/brackets) in the way.

Very carefully.

I should add that I did use electrical tape to secure the bulb to the socket so that its weight would not pull it out of the socket and leave it bouncing around loose in the light housing...requiring a magnetic pickup tool and some patience to receive it. Don't ask how I know this could happen.

If you have active headlights, can you do the HID conversion? If so, is there anything that needs to be done differently?

When you say HID conversion are you meaning having the ability to change your bulbs?

If so, nothing additional is needed, just a new set of bulbs

Forgive my lack of knowledge on this...
I have seen some bulb options that come with ballasts. Will those work with the active headlights?

Frome what I read/see:

Osram BCC = Better looking
Philips X-treme = More light

The Philips is too warm for my taste.

I echo Deb's assessment. If you want maximum lighting then you want the Phillips. If you want great output but color as well then the CBB's

I think I was looking at the wrong bulbs. My search pulled up headlight conversions that had ballasts. They may have been for the fog lights, though. Not sure.

Well I ended up purchasing the Osram CBB bulbs. I wanted a more cool white color and after watching several videos, as well as reviews, I think I like the CBB's color better.

I just did my interior lights too. I've done them on past vehicles simply because I wanted a bit more light. This was an absolute necessity. I just bought my M the other day. I got in it at night and thought, this can't be right. Who the hell signed off on the interior illumination? Stevie Wonder?! You've got LEDs in the door handles, LED in the illuminated sill plates, and then the dimmest, brownest bulbs infiniti could find.

Now I think I might be getting a sunburn when the domelights are on.

I agree. Inifniti seem to have some really daft ideas or they simply can't be bothered to go the next step. For what we pay for these cars, they should have been 100% LED interior for years now. My service rep once told me they provide a 'warm, elegant atmosphere'. To which I proudly say: BULLOCKS!
