Hello everyone! I am new here and when I landed on the site, I knew this was a great community.
I own a 2011 M37x and would like to change out the calipers and rotors to the Sport calipers and rotors. They look so much better. I am planning on buying the Infiniti stock 20" Sport wheels (again I think they look awesome).

I have seen some pictures of M37's here on Nico that seem to have done this already.

Question:
To make the change from base brakes to Sport brakes, is it as simple as removing the base brakes and calipers and bolting in the Sport calipers and rotors? Or are there modifications that need to be done?

Thank you!

you will need to modify the dust shield, and different banjo bolts. other than that its plug-and-play

This thread may shed some light and confirm that it is doable. m37-sport-brake-upgrade-t608770.html

Not sure what mod has to be done to the dust sheilds but it sounds like it will be easy. Post up some photos if you modify the dust sheilds for informational. Good luck!

Thank you for that.
Went searching for different versions of "2011 m37 Infiniti sport Brake Dust Shield modification"
I found the OEM Dust shield part- Supersession(s): 41161-JL30A; 411611EN0A
https://www.grubbsinfinitiparts.com/p/I ... 1EN0A.html
And an aftermarket Infiniti OEM Front Brake Dust Shield w/ Akebono Sport Calipers, LH - Nissan 370Z / Infiniti G37 FX50 QX70 here https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan- ... patibility

Looking at the base dust cover from conceptzperformance, is the modification needed to add the Akebno Sport Calipers just a wider cut to the caliper space. Is it 1-3 or on the other side 4? (see image- Conceptzperformance m37 brake dust cover)

First off, do you want to do it the cheap way or the right way?

I would want to do it the right way. Since the rotors will be off, I would like to find the sport dust shields and just replace the base dust shields.

You can use this as reference https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Od5ncf ... sp=sharing

Last updated Dec 2019. You basically buy the green part numbers. Recommend you do the axle nut upgrade while you're at it, just make sure you double the quantity since that list was made for rwd conversion. You can buy aftermarket calipers, pads, brake lines, and rotors if you don't want to buy oem.

You can buy a bunch of brackets on ebay, just make sure they don't look rusted. Just search for sports brake lines, hard lines, brackets, etc... for 370z, g37, & m37/m56/q70 since they all use the same hardware.

And can the big brake system be installed with the 18 inch factory m37x rims?

Based on my research, the stock 18" m37x wheels will NOT clear the front calipers. The rears are ok.

I just did this upgrade the budget way by getting remanufactured calipers from rockauto. I didn't do anything to the dust shield other than just bending them away from the new rotors. They really do not get in the way and this works fine. You really just need the calipers, rotors, pads and th banjo bolts. Rest is a direct bolt on.

Quick tip, if you're keeping the stock rubber brake lines like I did, use small vice grips with a cloth to pinch the brake lines as close to the calipers as possible so you don't lose too much brake fluid. Makes bleeding the new calipers easier.

Difference is night and day. I had the akebonos on my G37 and really missed them on the heavier M. Well worth the $$$ not to mention it looks awesome, especially painted
