Total count for Infiniti M cars in the U.S. and Canadabejjutsu wrote:Ah, so sales don't equal manufacturing numbers. But I would still be shocked if 100K Infiniti Ms didn't equate to virtually every single one of them....
i called the infiniti consumer affair and was told that it would release in Nov the notice and if i qualify i get to mail in my work order for a refund of my deductibleWangtang408 wrote:Just spoke with my dealership, they said recall notice will be mailed out in November. The service rep said will depend on VIN#.
This is what happened to my 08 M45 when I had it but never replaced it... The CEL was on and the code directly said it was the accelerator pedal assembly but it would still drive fine just "fail" at times!! Restart and no problems... Now my friend, the new owner will finally get it replaced for free so that's cool!!GQM45s wrote:damn it, this is what happened to me, you guys think i could get a refund on my $100 deductible i have with my warranty?
I read the recall in detail and if I'm not wing, you are entitled to a refund of some kind!! Unfortunately you already spent the cash but stay on it and you should see some of that $$ coming back to you!! Good luck!!Island_Slave wrote:Hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster. Thought this would be a good place to jump in. I have a 2008 M45 S (Blue Slate) that just went through this very issue. All lights on the Dash light up, and car felt like it had gone into Limp mode. Dealer said it threw a long list of codes. LSS it cost me ~$800 ($200+ was towing) to get a new Gas Pedal assy installed. Now I find out it is the source of this recall. I called my local Infiniti Dealer and they told me that my car was not currently flagged for any recalls and to call back in a few weeks. I was a bit perturbed and asked her if it was not they who should be calling me if this were on a recall? I will wait until November, but I sure hope they make this one right!
Waiting on the first M to have this done... Please post and let us know if dealerships are ready if you've had it done already!!bejjutsu wrote:So basically you can call up Infiniti/Nissan all day, but they really don't know anything yet.
Doubt it. I actually had this happen to me and they towed me 75 80 miles all said and done, no charge and then fixed the car the next day in 20 min. Still going to call.TDot wrote:Could this at all be associated with the lag time from when you hit the accelerator to when the car desires to actually kick in and take off?
Here is another:On some of the affected vehicles, an accelerator pedal sensor issue may cause the vehicle to slow down (go into "limp home" mode), and in rare instances, the engine may stop running while the vehicle is coming to a stop. If this issue occurs, it may increase the risk of a crash.
It's a full page letter, but I figure this is what most of the posts in this thread are looking for.Infiniti is currently developing the remedy to address this issue. Later this fall, Infiniti will send you a second letter asking you to bring your Infiniti vehicle to an Infiniti retailer for a remedy. Until that time, you can continue to operate your vehicle normally unless the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) in vehicle is illuminated. If the MIL is illuminated, contact your Infiniti retailer immediately and it will make arrangements for an immediate repair. Do not continue using your vehicle with the MIL illuminated.
