Un-freakin'-believable.

Yep - I'm sure you were TOTALLY innocent, just minding your own business, just like all the other poor slobs sitting in court feeling butt-hurt because they got caught... BTW, 89 - I'm sure you NEVER sit around at work doing nothing productive. :rolleyes

"Four nice ones out of the 17 that pulled me over?" Dude - Perhaps you need to re-examine exactly what you're doing to get pulled over that often... I speed ALL the time, have been doing so for 17 years, and I've gotten lit up five times. Cited twice. I'll hold a clinic on "Keeping Your Arse Out of Trouble" in a few weeks - Save up your allowance, it'll be worth it.

Let me make one thing abundantly clear: If a mod closes something, no explanation is necessary. Don't like it? Adios.

I think you can piss and moan about LE to your heart's content over at superhondaonline.com - You'll find plenty of sympathy there.

Like I've said before, I'm gonna go broke buying kleenex for people around here.

Seems as though most of the mods around here are asses....

First of all sitting around at work and being non productive is not the same as sitting on the side of the road and completely ****ing up traffic for miles for no valid reason! AND THIS STILL DOES NOT JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS OR YOURS AS MODS!

i dont have a problem with you locking the thread just ****ing explain yourself instead of saying ... "I dont agree with the conversation" that sounds like a personal problem to me!

And your "Don't like it Adios" attitude is pretty ****ty. I've been on this forum for a long time and not had issues with the mods and now you guys want to stifle a thread that was unjustly stifled.. .what about the thread on Nico General about the guy speeding getting pulled over and the cop was nice , I saw posts on there saying things about cops ... why was that not closed??

Justify your actions... even though you feel you don't have to .. it will atleast give us a better opinion of who is watching over these forums.

The above is what each and every member agreed to when they signed up. Pay close attention to the last bit, as it is critical to the subject at hand. Guys, it's time to learn to deal with being in a world that has rules. Rules from law enforcement, rules from moderators, rules from your parents.

89240sx, the guy you called a moron usually posts nonsense, BUT this time he's got a very good point. Every time a cop bashing thread pops up, at least one member posts the painfully obvious: you people are only thankful for cops when they help you, the rest of the time you're too busy waving your middle finger at the world to realize just how much good cops do for the community. If your car was stolen, you'd be on the phone with the police. If they recovered your car, you'd be thankful. Otherwise, most of the youth are rude, arrogant, and 100% disrespectful to police.

Ok first of all posting the terms is a cheap cop out way of getting out of a conversation and secondly ... cops finding my car when it's stolen is their ****ing job ... their ****ing job is not to inconvenience everyone by having a coffee break and ****ing up traffic for miles and miles... this is a valid argument , just because you as mods cannot justify your actions does not make it my fault!

And I was never disrespectful to police! This was a problem I have with the actions of the police in this area... and i'll repeat myself ... their job is not to **** up traffic their job is to give out tickets and retrieve stolen cars etc... We as tax payers should not have to deal with this above the law ... holier than thou bull**** attitude! ... You have to give respect to get respect .. .it is a two way street.

Maybe the cops had a very valid reason to slow traffic down...such as a lot of people speeding through that region of the highway? Or maybe there had BEEN a wreck there recently but it was allready cleared out, you were just experiencing the aftermath of it. There are a thousand reasons they could have been doing it other than solely to piss people off and ruin your morning. Is it so hard to give them the benefit of the doubt and just get over it? Same goes for the thread being locked...it's not that big a deal, just roll with it and move on.

There was no wreck like i said in the post that was locked!! for no reason this is the second or third time i've seen them in this same spot doing the same thing! You cant tell me their is a wreck in that same spot and it takes 8 cops to clear it out!

Perhaps it was my other reason then, thats a habitual problem speeding area and they were just getting people to slow down via their mere presence. Hey, it's better than them giving out tickets. I still dont see how any of this is that big of a deal...

Wrong. You know the rules, if you don't accept them... that is your problem, and you need to correct your problem before you post again.

89 - Not all mods here are asses - But one of the administrators is. :firedevil

Tell another member to STFU again (or call a moderator a name) and you'll be on vacation. Period. I know you've been here awhile, but that does NOT give you the right to belittle or call names. I can't be any clearer than that.

I'm amazed that you can't fathom the point that Nathan made. Perhaps you should go do a ride-along and ASK some of the local PD about things like that rather than ASSUMING you know everything, if you have the balls to do so. Perhaps you could buy a scanner (Bearcat BC-350A is a great unit, $80 on eBay) so you can hear what's going on before you start spouting nonsense about what you PERCEIVE to be an issue (that may be perfectly appropriate).

But it's SO much easier to be ignorant and just whine.

p.s. BTW, Who ARE you gonna call when your stuff gets jacked? :D

i got a lot of fix it tix, i only have gotten 2 speeding tickets in the 4 yrs i have been driving, i have no points on my record, and no accidents, i own the clinic on keeping out of trouble, no an den.

we can all agree that most cops are a$$es just becuz we are younger people in fast cars, or jsut cuz they want to be gay, but i think this thread should be closed too, there are too many opinions going off the deep end like whoa, most cops are gay, some aren't, repo was looking ahead to a possible problem and its happening right now. el fin

Good points, Brandon. I'm not gonna lock it and add fuel to the fire.

However, I've said my piece, and I hope I don't see any more nonsense when I log on in the morning.

oh christ, whatever.

I had this big long post about the philosophy of NICO mods etc asking why this and how come that, but I guess it doesnt really matter. If you guys want to do whatever you want then that's fine - you own the website. I'm just sayin-- in the interest of the betterment of the NICO community, perhaps even stupid threads should get a little bit of patience, and the members that started them the benefit of an explination. You guys seem like you're trying to create some sort of internet utopia here- banning curse words, sex, violence, and "stupid" posts, but I think its equally important to make those judgments in at least a friendly manner... not this unquestionable judgement from above deal you've got goin on.

Like I said though, whatever. I've been here long enough to know that the pros pretty much outweigh the cons here at NICO- and this is your place (as in: not the member's....) so hey do whateva you want. I didnt even see the original post anyways, so I cant comment on if it should have been deleted or not... I'm only reacting to the things some of the mods have said here.

haha NICO still gets a :thumbup anyways. I realise you guys deal with a lot of BS sometimes-- but hey we gotta complain about something when we temporarily run out of car topics, right??

I think that the cops that give respect deserve respect. I have a lot of respect for people that take that job for pure reasons, but we all know that that is hardly ever the case. A lot of cops do it for the power, and it takes a strong man not to be corrupted by power. I know I would be, but that is why I'm not a cop. Cops are human just like everone else, and that badge doesn't make them god like some act like. Small town governments have got to be the most corrupt I have ever seen. The cops can do no wrong. Hell, a couple weeks ago I partied with the police chief of a local town. Started out drinking, layed my bike down b/c he wanted to see some stunts, then we finished the night off with 2 19 year old girls (and yes, think badly). Like I said, I have the utmost respect for the good cops, but the rest give all the cops bad names. Maybe there should be a test for them that would somehow clear out the corrupt ones, but then there wouldn't be hardly any cops. Here come the judgements!

This might sound really dumb, but I think it'll make sense to this thread.

I'm a computer guy, high up on the food chain in my company. When I decide to have a break, I don't take into account my surroundings, other than if its a spot I can kick back for a few and escape the daily grind.

Granted, people can walk by and see me where I sit, and theres a mad panic, or they slow down to ask me whats wrong or whatever - because they automatically think that since I'm there, even though I'm my eating my snack/coffee/whatever, theres somethign wrong with the computer equipment in my vicinity, or that something major is about to get done there.

Fact of the matter is, I'm human, and I have a job, I'm entailed to breaks like everyone else. If they want to stop and look at me, or talk to me and make their own conclusions, thats their own perogative. Some peopel even have the audacity to think I shouldn't have breaks, cuz they're paying for our support!

Corrupt people get jobs in every field, whether its police, government, the 7/11 down the road or even the peddling for change when he got a pocket full of money.

I can see how cops can have a holier than thou status in smaller communities and towns, but that also goes along with alot of other people in that same place of residence, that can have the same type of reputation/status - if you can not understand this, I refuse to explain.

peace

lbrowne

ps: I take cop stories involving young folks claiming police to be doing everything but their job with a grain of salt. More often than not the culprit is guilty as charged, but somehow the police are targeting them because of who they are.

*EDIT: I think my reply might have more to do with this original thread moreso than this...but they're directly related :D

Interesting.... all I have to say is Cops abuse thier authority, Generally anyways, but I know If I were one(god forbid) I'd be a ****ing ****head to the fullest extent...Just because I could!usually the cops around my way speed the traffic up way too many cars and too little space to drive them... I do an average speed of 90+ on the highways around here and cops pass me like I'm standing still sometimes... other times they pull up behind me right on my *** to make me think I'm getting a ticket, Hell they could've but I usually put on my blinker and let 'em by...I've got to give credit to all the lazy pigs even though I dont like 'em and they arent around when I need 'em, its just a job and I sure as hell wouldn't work for their pay...I'll bet they wouldn't be such asses if they got paid some decent money for putting thier lives in danger everyday...most of them make under 30k a year...I'd wipe my *** with that paycheck and tell my boss to eat it after being shot at a few times...Hell, I'd rather sell crack at lest theres some money in it for the risk.

oh and j-spec tuner why do you act like you never speed or drive aggressively anywhere, I think you're full of ****I'll bet you 20 grand that you exceeded the speed limit at least once yesterday...If only there were a way to prove it, but remember 1mph over is still speeding, Just because you say you've never had a ticket doesn't mean you dont break the law...

I speed all the time, but I dont have 15 tickets either. I got pulled over and ticketed twice so far in the 5 years I've been driving, and both times I beat the cases in court. If you get pulled over all the time it doent just mean that you're a big time speeder, it pretty much means that you're also a moron and you do it in stupid places and at dumb times.

pretty much everyone speeds, that was my point, if you dont your too old/stupid to react quick enough. Most people drive at a speed they are comfortable at which in my case is way over the limit but I dont do it everywhere or in places I'm not familiar with.if you dont know where the pigs sit or you cant smell the bacon your approaching your asking for it!
