Go out tonight and do some 1/4 mile runs... you don't need to weigh the car for that...

Hey Rob........Glad to see how everything is coming together.......I'll take you up on that ride, I'd like to feel the difference.I'll meet you at Moroso one of these days, I'm curious to see what mine will do in the 1/4.... By the way, even my 96 has that slight loss of rpm in third gear under hard acceleration. I thought my TC may be slipping but I guess it's a universal flat spot. The 96 has a very good ECU (32bit) so it happens in both

Geez, Greg, I thought I was going to do some times this week on my Austin Q45. Oh well, it's rained often lately. Must get back to sunny Seattle.

Sounds good fastlane...we will get together when I get back in town as I will be traveling on business for the next 3 weeks.

If you want to meet me there tonight...that would be great. I am leaving Miami about 6pm to get to Moroso around 7:30 with the traffic. You should already have my cell number so give me a call if you car coming up.

sorry guys...but mother nature was not being kind last night as after I drove 70 miles north....the roads were wet from a recent rain shower as it is the beginning of the rainny season here and they were not opening the track....

So knowing my luck....I had a Cobra pull up along side me wanting to race as they had turned around also after seeing the track was closed. I said what the hell...I like a$$ whippings and we punched it at 60mph...I ran up to 135 only to see a little red dot infront of me as he took off like an F16....I guess I need a few more mods :-)

I had to send back the OEM ECU today to avoid the $500 core charge.

When I get back from my travels (3 weeks) ...I will do some more 1/4 runs.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I have driven the car and advise as follows. From a standing start the car is doing everything right. Stall speed is fine, shift point, firmness ect are all as I wanted.

The only problem is from a rolling start, is a slight hesitation before the car launches. Now this could be as simple as tuning. So before I can make a corect assesment on wether I am 100% happy with the Torque Converter, I will have to go right through the car again.

I have been thrashing it and it is running quite rough. It is great to now be able to blow off a GTR Skyline from a standing start. The expression on their face is pricless.

If you modify the rear end, or put in a 1st generation transmission in a second generation Q, make sure you change the speed sensor. It makes a huge difference in the way the TCU functions and shift points. Much greater difference than I ever imagined.

Regards

AGM, would you be able to e-mail me your latest dyno sheets w/ boost? As well, do you know what you run the 1/4 in?

Being able to blow a GTR away truely is quite the amazing feat. It must stick quite the grin on your face :D .

I'm glad to hear your Q is coming along how it is Ash. All the best.

The 90-96 have the same rear diff ratio/tires so you don't change the speed sensor when mixing a 90-93 or 94-96 transmission.Only need to change tail shaft speed sensor when changing diff gears.

Would like some real world comparisons in 50-80 mph against my 5.3 seconds........even if the modified shift [@ 72-74-75 mph with 4.083] takes only 0.3 secs not sure the diff gain of 15.4% can make up the difference. [time lost in shift].

I'm waiting with baited breath.

Ahh Dennis....

I am running as fast as I can to get this car all done and do some tests in the mean time. I now think I know why poeple pay such a premium at dealers to have a car already completely customized as this is not an easy task, but still much fun. Hold your breath....I get back intown in 2 weeks and should have the 4.08 installed shortly afterwards.

AGM....very glad to hear your car is back on the road again. I guess your car is now know as the "8th Wonder of the World" as "How the hell a Q45 just beat the pants off a Skyline?" I along with others are dying to hear your 1/4 times.

How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all coming together..

Dennis: I will provide any acceleration times you desire, once I get the car to my desired level... hopefully the GTECH pro is flexbile enough to do 50-80 times etc..
